Except that they were misrepresented. Refer last week's Sunday Times.

Anyway, Artur Boruc is now assured his place amongst Northern Ireland legends.

The sight of thousands of Northern Ireland fans singing "Artur Boruc, Ulster's Number 1" is something I'll take to my grave.

The Englishmen came over in the year 2005
But little did they know that we'd planned a wee surprise
Sir David scored the winner, and Windsor Park went wild
And this is what we sang...

Maybe the angelic Poles were tired after their "antics" in Slovakia in October?

I'm not surprised there was trouble to be honest the Poles have a bit of a reputation for trouble and well NI fans have been involved in trouble recently enough too. It took two to tango in this case to be fair and you cannot place all blame at the feet of the Polish fans.

Does anybody know where the return match (5th of September) will be played? Is the venue still to be confirmed?

The Polish FA has confirmed the game for Szczecin (Baltic coast port on the German border about 150km from Berlin). It's a relatively small stadium (ca 17,000) as the Poles are rebuilding other larger grounds for Euro 2012.

can you not accept / admit some nothern irish fans involved in trouble ,... ok polish fans started trouble before game and police admitted hardcore element travelled over just to create trouble ... but what about the fans who ( n ireland ) who clashed with police after match threw fireworks etc and then deceided to attack a few houses in the village area and was it also a polish fan hidden amongst home fans who threw missile at linesman just after poland equalised ... shame really all this crap overshadows a great team performance & victory by northern ireland

I'm sure Shay Given would beg to differ.

Thanks. That's where my wife comes from, well she graduated at the University of Sczeczin at least. The stadium is weird, a sort of huge U shaped arena open on one side with almost no cover at all. Local team Pogon used to be one of the best spported in the country but the team got relegated and then disappeared into the lower divisions after the president bought about 16 unknown Brazilian players in a crazy attempt to win the league

I can accept we were involved in trouble.

I won't accept the picture some people try to paint that we are always just a bunch of rioting bigots.

McGinn has already played for NI with no problems

Also why shouldn't NI fans boo Boruc, he breaks under the pressure.

But could be worse, we could have booed a player because he has the same name as a former Rangers player like they did in dublin a few short years ago

    Or is that different

Told my missus as I watched the match, 'Bet you there'll be trouble in Belfast tonight.'
Somehow there always is with you lot.

If you read the whole thread you'll find I made the point that it is absolutely no different

You do realise this is the first time there has been trouble at any of our games for YEARS?

Or are you just conveniently ignoring that/ are you brainwashed?

What? Where did I say it was fine? What the hell are you waffling about?

There's only one person demonstrating prejudice on this thread.

I won't dispute anything about the bad old days.
