If you think things are bad in the LOI, have a look at this article about the shenanigans going on the in the Lithuanian top-flight, which could start with as little as five clubs this year. It might put our troubles into perspective.

I was in Kaunas in June. Not even possible to buy a jersey anywhere. I also witnessed their version of MNS. Shocking quality. Would make ELW look good. Crowds were first division standard.

basketball is the main sport in the country and its still a relatively poor country in EU terms. the only way i can see them,Latvia or Estonia improving is if the do a cross boarder competition between each other to increase interest in the sport.
