    Been off sick for a week and catching up with boxsets etc so a few more from me

    Uncle Junior and Paulie Walnuts from the sopranos. Not a sitcom but man do they have some great lines

    Oh and from current shows, angela in the us office is the funniest peripheral charachter ever

    that and the fact they both like to drink, both have wives they could and should treat better, both have kids that are dysfunctional to say the least, and both offer great insights into life -

    you asked whats the difference between homer and rab. I answered with the differences. All the above similarities in both you listed above also appply to them and millions of other people.

    And not sure what your getting at with that 2nd remark. All I said was simpsons is a cartoon and rab c isn't. Is this true or not?

    yeah thats true bit unfortunately us drinkers and bar room philosophers dont have our own TV shows, and their are not so much TV out there for us - just the sport and top gear and the odd comedy

    Good shouts mostly imo, not a big fan of Rab C but can understand why people like him and wouldn't be a massive fan of Red Dwarf. Have to say though, how can people find Little Britain that funny? It's alright the first time you see the joke, the second time it's wearing thin, and when they do they same joke twice an episode for the rest of the series the humour is like the four headed, man-eating haddock fish beast of Aberdeen.* Not saying it's not funny in places but if you seriously think the show is one of the greatest comedies ever made, you must have the attention span of a goldfish.
