Getting away from yesterdays outstanding result( and second half performance), I'm led to believe the Rovers brought more trouble to the 'Cross.

Aparantly someone taunted the Rovers fans in the Horseshoe at half-time with" Milltown is a carpark" leading to some fisticuffs which the Gards had to breakup and closed the Bar after the match.
After the game two lads came up to me in the TCT and said how they were chased up the Curragh road by 50? rovers fans who also stopped to drag some guy from a car and give him a beating.

If true this is quite disturbing. I was wondering if anyone else had any info?

Also great to see the bottle throwing back in the Shed At least O'Dowd didn't make a big deal out of it. Some day a manager will just take his players off the pitch and we'll all be in the ****.

i know exactly what went on up curragh road. we were walking up that way when about eight or nine rovers fans chased a big group of cork young fellas, aged around 15 or 16 up the road. they ended up way up the road a head of us. by this stage my two younger cousins had crossed the road from us. there was no way that there could have been any mistaken that they were involved in whatever went on because by this stage the other young fellas were long gone. as the rovers fans were walking back one of them just started hitting hit my cousin, who is 14, smacks on the head. these though boyos were in there late 20's and decided to take out whatever was the matter with them of two young fella who didn't even say a word to them. myself and my uncle ran across the road and got them off my cousins and start moving up the road. they just moved on when they was that they weren't just going to get it there own way.i'm sitting here now with a closed eye because of those *****s.

Another incident going up towards Frankie Sulls...

A group of young Rovers scumbags had got their hands on a City scarf. One of them had set it alight and was marching up the middle of the road ****ed and singing anti-City songs. When the flame got to big for him he launched it at a couple of City fans who were walking just behind minding their own business.

There obviously needs to be a lot more Gardai for future matches with Rovers. Also it's crazy leaving the scumbags out of the ground at the same time as the City supporters. Just hold them in their section for 15 minutes and let the crowds get out in safety. As always 90% of them are probably fine, but they definitley manage to bring down some of the biggest scum aswell.

Win, lose or draw it seems to be same problems with every Rovers game.
I'd agree completely about holding the 'away section' back until the crowd clears. I wouldn't be entirely comfortable sitting near their area in the main stand and cordoning off this section should be managable given the large no. of stewards inside the ground. Remember Rovers will return in March.

Its a shame for those bringing young kids to have to put up with this. I wonder is there truth in the notion that those "fans" that are barred from Rovers home games tend to turn up at away games?

What gets me about the hoolie's over here, if they style themselves on England, is that the firms in England are only interested in fighting other firms. It is frowned upon to attack fans that are not interested in trouble and/ or scarfers. And attacking kids is a big no no. They don't seemed to have grasped that fact, yet still have pretensions of granduer. If they ever came across a proper firm.....
btw I don't condone trouble, fighting at football matches etc etc.....

I was the one walking down the road to Frankie Sulls, and was the inecent bystander that had the flaming scarf thrown at him. i only saw the thing coming towards me at the last second a ducked it. Otherwise....into the face

I hear that one of those City guys down by the corner flag in the Nottingham Forest jersey was involved in the Horseshoe fracas.

Those dublin kiddies with the scarf were clearly looking for a reaction & when didn't get one decided to throw the burning scarf. You can be sure their big brothers were waiting around the corner anyway.....

BTW what was with those sad gits in a Celtic, Notts forest & Spurs jersey???????? Did anyone tell them who was playing in yesterdays match?

That was an idiot of a young fella in front of me in the shed! I'd say he was 12 or 13 at the most and to be honest i cant say ive ever seen him out the cross before...he thought he was mad throwing the bottle but from the reaction of those around him i doubt he'll be doing it again (well hopefully anyway)...

There's always trouble with rovers. It has to be sorted out. They should be penned into the ground for the duration of the match- i.e. no pub at half time, and then escorted out after the city fans have left. No other team causes this level of trouble.
