I think with the German tax rate that wages can be big, but teams don't really go beyond their means despite being in brilliant financial condition.

Looks like Barca are gonna clinch the title off the pitch, tonight. Villarreal 2-1 up Vs. Madrid with 25mins left. Madrid need to win or else Barca win the league.
Great team, well deserved
EDIT: Finished 3-2 to Villarreal. Barca are champions!

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Two great results for Villarreal in last two weeks, 3-3 at the Camp Nou and then beating Real. Ramos definetly gonna be sacked I expect?

I was hoping to go to Real and Barca games next season (not against each other). There was a lot of occasions the season just gone where Real would have been playing at the Bernabeu on the Sat night whit Barca at the Nou Camp on the Sunday, or vice versa. How long in advance do they decide whether the fixture is a Saturday or a Sunday? I would like to get them both in on the one trip.
No more than two or three weeks. Best bet is to keep an eye on the official websites; they announce fixture times as they're confirmed (Barca one does anyway)
Ya I was kind of afraid of that. I makes it very awkward in trying to sort out reasonable flights/accommodation in advance. Thanks.
Edit: By the way is it easy enough to get tickets for run of the mill type matches eg. Barca v Almeria/Real v Malaga. Could you just get them on the day or day before maybe?

Only games I've been to are Espanyol v Villarreal and Barca Atletic v Benidorm. Both those were pay at the gate. The same system screwed me over getting to see Barca unfortuantely.![]()
Might try to get them from the in advance so. I know the Barca website sells them anyway, pricy enough though.
Well they won't be cheaper on the day...
Both clubs only put tickets on general sale a couple of weeks before the game. Fixtures are out in late July. As above the days/times aren't fixed until (at the earliest) 2 weeks before hand.
You can be sure that the weekend before Champions League games both clubs will play Saturdays.

Actually you've just given me an idea there Dodge. I could aim for a Real home game at the wkd follwed by a Barca Champs Lge game during the week (or vice versa maybe). If they were playing someone ordinary tickets would probably be handy enough. To be honest I only want to go to Madrid for the match, the bones of the trip I'd prefer to be based in Barcelona.
expect the fixture list around july 12
the situation regarding setting kick off days/times is ridiculous, most KOs aren't confirmed until the thursday/friday of the week before but as was pointed out a CL game on the Tuesday guarantees the previous liga game will be on the Saturday
last season up to four first division games were televised live on La Sexta (free channel), was definitely a factor in poor attendances at Mestalla but I believe next year it will be back to the old fashioned one saturday night game live on normal telly, late night sunday game on canal+ and the rest on PPV
