Mbabazi hopeful of playing again
Former St Patrick’s Athletic star Charles Mbabazi Livingstone, who was forced to retire from the game after collapsing on the pitch during a league clash with Bohemians in October, has revealed that he may yet make a return to competitive football.
Tests conducted following his worrying collapse on the field of play diagnosed Livingstone with an irregular heart problem, and he was told to bring his playing days to an end.
But the 23-year-old Ugandan international captain, widely held to be one of the eircom League’s best ever foreign imports, will receive advice on his situation over the winter, and he remains hopeful of making a full recovery.
He told the Irish Daily Mirror: "Eamonn Collins, the Pats manager, has been speaking to a few clubs in England for me, to see if they can point me in the right direction. There is still a definite chance that I could play again. We’re looking for a second opinion from specialists in this field and I remain absolutely positive about my future."

Good news. Been a positive week for him so (they announced at the game that his wife had a kid over the weekend).
Be good to see him back.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
I was at the game when he collapsed, no one realised how serious it was at the time. I thought it was awful news when I heard he had to quit at such a young age. Fair play to Pats for sticking by him and offering a coaching position.
He is an excellent player and I hope to see him back next season on the pitch rather than on the sideline.
Excellent news about the kid too.
