Well it turns out that the reason for pushing it back to Thursday wasn't a conspiracy to ruin Limerick and an opportunity to pair it with their super-dooper-FAI event type thing (which I believe was to do with officially opening the full-size astroturf pitch or something to that effect).

So it would appear that the Bonners and Delaneys of this world are a bigger draw than the David Freemans!
The ball is round and has many surprises.

Your rear end in parsley. Official figure was 832. They were spread out throughout the ground though.

It wasnt just about the opening of the Astro pitch by the way. There was a week long festival of football in the run up to tomorrow's FAI AGM in Monaghan and as it was the first time the Festival had come to a county with an LOI team it was only logical that there would be a game as part of that.

When you consider that there were only about 30/40 Limerick there, it shows there is a potential, we need to get some FAI legends here every week to keep them coming back!

Hopefully we can build on it. The whole purpose of the Festival of Football week is to showcase what is going on in the county at every level of football and to use the publicity & good will of it all to build and make football stronger.

    Fingers crossed!

Its the 3rd year that the FAI have brought the "roadshow" on tour for the AGM & we were delighted to have them here. Phase 2 of our regional development centre is finished & opened officially last night by John Delaney.

Dundalk V Derry, I was expecting a lot more but the crowd was given as 2,100 I think. Cant understand why it was so low for such a high profile game.

I would have estimated no more than 2,000 so this sounds about right.

There was basically nobody on 3 sides of the ground and the stand wasn't full. There may have been 400 odd people in your pub I suppose.

I would be amazed if this proves to be correct!

    Who gave this 2,100 figure?

I think I got the figure of 2,100 wrong for Dundalk v Derry last night, appears there was more. So my post can be discounted now.

That's an improvement on their recent attendances.
    You've got no fans.

I'd say 2,800 in Richmond tonight, about 1,300 Rovers.

Sure is. The nice weather must have brought them all out. I had to queue to get into the ground

You really think there were more Pats fans than Rovers fans in Richmond tonight? Are you blind - even the lads over on your forum are saying the home fans were well outnumbered.

Yeah I noticed that. That's just my estimate, fair enough if others disagree.
