Finn Harps v Shelbourne - Official Attendance was 506. Still poor, but better than recently.
Then why the dig about crowds. Seems like there was no need for it and yet you had a go anyway.
Trying desperately to not support shels and end up becoming some bitter little football fan who blames everybody else for their problems. (not all, i know)
Isnt it amazing how when a little argument between fingal fans and another club pops up, there is always a shels fan waiting to join in and have a go. Quite funny really.

Id say the cup games attendance was about 1800, with about 400 Derry fans.
The Jinks holds 800 and Derry had just less than half if you take into account the barriers.
So about 1800 id say.
And BTW the Derry fans did have access to the Shed End if they didnt have enough room in the jinks, and if thats unsuitable I dont know what your arguement is when they put 700 of us out on uncovered terracing the last time we played Derry in the cup in the Brandywell.
Are crowds up or down across the league this year?
Has the recession hit the crowds or has the LOI been fairly immune to the recession hitting the gate (not talking about sponsorships)

I mean, this time last year. For instance if the Irish League compared average crowds from the whole last season to the first 3 matches of this season. The average support for Glentoran will be 4000-5000. Which is obviously skewed massively from last nights game.
So from this point last season, how are the crowds holding up.

Not that it matters but it is reported in a couple of places in the Sligo Champion that the crowd on saturday night was 2,600 v Derry in the cup.
Not at all.
Firstly - people have less money to spend on higher value pursuits, weekends away etc etc, yet still want something to do of an evening and some form of entertainment.
Secondly - there's lots of academic evidence from this recession and last that consumption of culture and entertainment generally goes up (e.g. cinema, museums, art galleries, inexpensive restaurants/delivery pizza etc).
