Personally, I cant wait for Lyon, I just want to draw a line under the Fulham game now.
Yes best if he needs an operation to get it done after tomorrow and with the international breal on the horizon he might have a chance for the City game.

i sincerely hope we dont lose him to real madrid i dont think any manager out there could do a better job under the circumstances....
still theres a few cushty home games coming up sandwiched around the cl games the season is far from over yet
cushy home games .. i like your confidence but the way liverpool are playing at the moment it is the cushy games they struggle to win .. season definatly not over for them yet but just getting harder and harder with these results

I dont know where these cushy home games are, hunt? After Lyon its Brum at home, which falls into that category, I suppose. The next 2 home games are against Fiorentina and Arsenal and are on the 9th and 13th of December and I certainly wouldnt call them cushy. Pre-December there are away games in Hungary, Goodison and Ewood.

Cringeingly predictable and utter utter rubbish

Torres aside, they are a mess. Yossi can play and Aquilani can play but Steve Me is finished as is Jamie C

A confused mess - no interest in any of the traditional excuses rolled out - it is chaos

Tonight's performance and the result itself would normally be fine. Liverpool's downfall was letting the lead slip at Anfield. I don't think they are a bad side, but the players seem to have such brittle confidence they have very little chance of keeping a lead. Each time he takes Torres (or Gerrard when he plays) off the team's confidence seems to implode...

Not far off the truth. Liverpool should have won the game last night but once they scored and Torres came off, it seemed inevitable that Lyon would score. I thought Lyon were dreadful overall.

Torres isnt fit and looked even more uncomfortable last night than he did on Saturday. Rafa really should let him go and have the operation. It will probably mean that he will be out for a month but I think it would be worth it in the long run.

Again agree with this. Torres didn't come out for the warm down afterwards. Don't know if that means anything. Am sure we will hear in the coming days.

Watching Torres's movement last night you could see he was far from his usual self. For Liverpools sake I hope he and Gerrard are fit again soon.

above you mention Gerard who didn't play last night and state he is finished?
You mention Aquilani who didn't play last night or in fact this season and has 15mins in total under his belt as a Liverpool player and state he can play?

Your argument is a confused mess

I was kind of surprised with Lyons tactics. I know they only needed a draw but it was a very dangerous game they were playing. With the team Liverpool had out they were very much there for the taking if they had played their normal game. Having said that I thought they were reasonably comfortable, although Lucas and Voronin did have really good chances. I thought Liverpool, for the most part, were very predictable and laboured. They were so slow moving that at times it was hard to believe it was a match they really needed to win. Having said that it's obviously a very difficult place to go and it's not easy break down a good side with at least ten men behind the ball. Some goal by Babel in fairness, should really have been enough. Realistically Lyon have to win in Florence for Liverpool to have any chance, stranger things have happened.

Well, looking at Aquilani from the Italian league from last year and a couple of other vignettes, he looks like a player. Clearly don't know about how he will do for Liverpool - but he looks a player

On Gerrard, at his age, and given his athleticism, his recurring injuries are now going to start to take a serious toll on the longevity of his career. Put it this way - if he played for Wenger, he would have been shipped out a couple of years ago.

Does this preclude my ability to comment on Liverpool ? West Ham are the epitome of a mess - a good manager but devoid of coherent strategy.

But the media don't fawn over WH, RTE don't spend hours and hours on WH, no WH player tips up in the media saying they want Prem an WC medals, WH ambition is to not get relegated, LFC's goal is to win loads of stuff.

And it is in that context that LFC are a mess

agree with you on lyon tactics very surprised .. but maybe they also not a great team .. i thought liverpool controlled game after about 20 mins and should have been at least 3-0 up before babel scored .. lyon had 2 chances on liverpool mistakes and scored one of them on last nights performance cannot see lyon winning in florence

Ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. I can't predict how injuries might affect Stevie's future, but what you are saying about Wenger is the stupidest thing I have heard all week. Check SG's personal statistics for the last 2 years then come back to me. Oh and by the way what has Wenger's policy won him since 2005 FA Cup?????

The current LFC squad has been found out. It seems to become more blatently obvious with every match they play how unbalanced & weak they actually are.
Whoever will eventually replace Rafa will have one hell of a job on his hands.
LFC are on the brink of losing more then just a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Being honest what he's saying is Wenger has won nothing since 2005 and gets no real criticism for it. Nothing at all to do with glass houses.

Benitez is still getting plenty of support from the fans anyway, going by Sky Sports News last night. They are a loyal bunch, I'll give them that. Not so much the Liverpool fans I know in 'real life' though, they're sick to death of him.
