We're now flying into Paris on Sunday and on from there to Bari on Monday.
Seriously ****ed off at this strike as this trip is turning into a nightmare.
Haven't re-booked yet as it will cost well over 100 euro. Anybody heard anything from the airlines?
These strikes have a habit of being resolved so fingers crossed.
Had to bite the bullet last Friday and now staying the night in London on the Sunday night . the flight out of Shannon with air lingus was 9.99 on Thursday 17.99 on Friday and now 39.99 today , I could say something but I don't want to swear .....
I booked the same flight. Im going to get either the early or afternoon flight to Bari the next day so will be staying in Milan. Not sure whether to stay in the centre or at the airport?? Anyone got any recommendations? Heard it's not the nicest city ever
IMPACT did not get the majority required to pass the motion for a strike but don't think they have airport worker members. They possibly would not pass picket from other unions though. Closing an airpirt for half a day will mean a lot of flights cancelled as airlines will surely pick choose that optin give the advance notice of strike.
I am going to be in Milan from Sunday morning also on the same flight as AidoM. Whats the plan so Milan on Sunday night.

Our Tuesday flight to Bari is from Malpensa airport @ 07.10, I don't know what time the afternoon flight is. Malpensa is about 50Km from the centre of Milan with a 40 minute train journey from the city.
We are staying in the Best Western Della Corona beside Malpensa on both Sunday and Monday nights particularly because of the early start on Tuesday. Have you checked if the flights are still available?

Today's Indo reckons the strike is cancelled and this will be confirmed later today.
Fingers crossed.

Thanks to the threat of strike I am going to see Milan and start the drinking earlier. How bad.

Phew big relief. Glad I don't need to spend any extra changing flights.
