And now back to our regular scheduled post...
Would anyone be intrested in looking into chartering our own plane for the Georgia trip and or the Cyprus trip? Haven't a clue about how feasible it might be, but just throwing it out there for discussion?

Charter was looked at for some other game (Faroes I think) and was ridiculously expensive. I'd say SuperDave's points were the main reasons why.
great idea..get aido on the case, you would get 380 no bother at all!!, it would be alot handier!!

I looked into it for the Faroes game and it was expensive. The problem is the empty legs or the plane waiting around on the tarmac for too long - pilots going out of hours etc etc.
Cyprus is easily accessible with a number of airlines from London among others. Access is not great from this country but you can still get to London easily enough despite the governments efforts.
Demand for Georgia probably isn't high enough and the distance involved is huge and would affect the cost.
Anyone interested Falcon have just launched their 2009 summer brochure. Direct flights to Lanaca out Aug 30 Back Sep 6 €534 per person. Deposit €50 to be paid now and a further €80 by mid September, balance by end of June next.
Easyjet seem to be the only low cost carrier to Cyprus, and they are about €280 for 2008 around these dates from London.

05; flew over with Helios airlinesnever so happy to set foot in Ireland again after flying with them
06; actually booked to go with them againbut they folded, so got our money back as booked through mastercard.. then booked with budgettravel, could not believe how cheap flights were but sure were not many fans there the second year, lucky them
If Ireland have good start to the campaign (fingers crossed) then those €450 flights could end up being good value, but I will hold out for a while yet.
Two of us booked for a week with falcon, €650 flights and accomodation, staying near ayia nappa
