Didn't Neil Doak play cricket and rugby for Ireland. I'm fairly sure he was in a World Cup squad in rugby
I'd imagine there's been a couple of Hockey players too but your question leads me to think its a Northerner wo played in the Football World Cup?

Heh, you've got it already, it's Neil Doak. The clue is accurate but misleading, Doak was in the 2003 RWC squad but strangely never played an international.

Oh right, I thought I'd got someone extra. I actually thought Doak had played for ireland in the rugby.
