theres no cure for the League of Ireland bug. spread it :)
Search for *.doc ..... any documents saved already should keep the settings that they always had.
Is it the only programme that is acting funny, have you had a look at Excel and Power Point (if you have them installed) .... try opening Wordpad and opening *.doc from there. Try opening Outlook (express) and opening a *.doc from there.
What you need to do is get into tools - options and adjust setting in there.
What version of Word is it and what version of Windows have you got ?
Are you sure it aint full screen ..... if it is there should be a floating toolbar (no at the top) somewhere on the screen with "close full screen" button to return to original view.
Did you try uninstalling it and reinstalling it (as opposed to installing over the top again)
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
sorry i didn't reply, i was off having a pint, yes yes what to do, its hard question to answer but i will stick with my first idea of having a pint.

You can't spell failure without FAI
Ref .... what had you been doing ??
Virus ??
What tools do you have ?
Can you type text ?
Can you highlight text and then right click and format it ?
Can you right click where the toolbars should be ? Options is the one you are looking for ?
Do you have any other word processing programmes like wordpad etc. ........... Can you check them out, so you then know if it is just Word that is acting up.
What version of Windows are you running ?
Are you comfortable with Windows Registry
if not .......... FORGET IT
if yes ......... have a look here !!
or have a snoop around here to see is there anything else ... but i'd do this as a last resort !!
see here

toolbars on top seem to be gone.
the alt v shortcut doesn't work.
i can type text, format text and so on - right click on page and use that menu but it is very awkward not having the toolbars on top.
word 2000.
windows 95.
cannot right click where toolbars used to be.
it seems to be ok except for the toolbars.
i've tried everything!!
Have you tried system recovery to a date when the toolbars were still there?
Lately I had huge problems with my computer, it got worse from day to day until nothing worked properly at all. It nearly drove me crazy. In the end the problem was solved by closing down the firewall (ZoneAlarm).![]()
