Just thinking - is there any reason why this should be as bogey a competition as people make it out to be? What's the difference between playing two extra games in mid-season in the InterToto and playing two extra games in the CL? Or four games, for that matter?

Maybe when we were in and the competition was two months before the season started, then there were problems, but not with summer soccer surely?

Don't think it is to be honest. Rovers (the only summer soccer entrants) had way more problems than an inter-toto hangover. Likewise for us the previous season. There shouldn’t be any problems for Cork

Any eL team qualifier should make the 2nd round. Good chgance of making 3rd round for game against a big team when i think games are mid week?
