    USB mic for commentary

    Bizarre request here lads.

We use the blogtalkradio platfrom to comment on Derry games.

We have been using normal Skype headsets via mic in/USB.

Anyone got any recommendations of reasonable "commentary mics"

I've listened to a few of your broadcasts. They're pretty good and a valuable service.

This seems to be the top commentary mic, but you'd need an adaptor of some sort to connect it to your computer.

I've looked around for USB microphones with similar specs, but most microphones on the web seem to be sold mainly for either voice recognition or for VOIP. Skype's the latter, but there just isn't much info on how the mics do in the conditions you're dealing with. I'd just look for something that looks like it'd be comfortable to use (either a headset or to hold) and claims good noise cancellation. A lot of gaming headsets seem to have this.

That is the key, the conditions.

Not many gaming headsets are quipped to deal with howling winds or random mentalists roaring abuse around you.
