I see your point and appreciate what you're saying but what I'm saying is that we all bitched and whinged about the FOCR's having their meetings and that all the other members weren't invited along. I do appreciate the circumstance was slightly different surrounding this case as the committee were attending, however, some members were invited along whereas others were not. We could be here all days debating the rights and the wrongs of this and I'm only voicing my own personal opinion.

from the quote above, I think you should all STOP supporting Cobh Ramblers in every way until they step down, if it means staying out of the bar, games ect.

time to let it go now luka, there are bigger issues at stake hear now including the survival of the club so i would drop the focr comparison as from what i hear is that there was representation from all sides of the club at the meeting

You're correct. I do believe there were two in attendence from the FOCR's and all those running for committee positions barr one or two. Far as I'm concerned and from what I know all who attended were handpicked. My membership extends to the AGM but I'll be reviewing it after that. That's my stand and how strong I feel about the way things are being handled.

I f you are thinking about not renewing your membership then why are you running for committee?

As for being hand picked I would think that they just wanted a small group so that things would not end up in a screaming match like usual. I think you are taking to much offense about not being there and i am also sure that if you did happen to urn up last night noone would have told you that you could not attend.

I suppose I would have turned up had I known it was a meeting of that sort, however, as I didn't then I didn't. I can always change my mind about the 'reviewing' part, not the 'renewing' part'. I mean, people do that all the time. Anyway, I'm done on this debate. I don't think I have anything more to offer to it.

The unveiling of all this brings a very sour taste to all genuine members of Cobh Ramblers FC.

On a previous thread, I had stated that the time for factions and fighting had to end.

Well based on what has been igniting in recent days and reports of meetings etc., I contacted a member of FOCR to urge their supporters to refrain from any form of finger pointing and this member has since assured me that NO member of FOCR attended last night's meeting in an official capacity.
What the person did say and I have to admit I was shocked at it, was that FOCR are still awating a response to a letter they sent to the Chairman and Committee some months back which contained 19 questions regarding irregularities with the Club's finances. While the letter was sent to date no reply has been issued.

I still repeat here, that there is and can be no place for factions of any nature and I would respectfully urge the Chairman and his Committee and to come clean with the members and let us all do everything in our power to safe our Football Club.

There was no factions at that meeting on tuesday night.
The people that went there were just ordinary members of the club.
While some members are waiting for answers, other members went looking for answers and challenged the committee on what has been revealed over the last few days.
All we have been doing for the last 12 months is waiting for answers and waiting for the golden goose to lay a golden egg for us to get us out of the sh!te we are in. Wake up call IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
So we have to get up off our h***s and unite to get our club out of the sh!te we're in.

Official capacity what is that supposed to mean they were there end of, We should be glad the members are rallying on such an important issue, things like this cannot be allowed to happen. IMO they will be waiting for their response because the letter is probably stuck in a filing cabnet somewhere along with all the bills and creditors letters.

Or it may mysteriously appear at an EGM/AGM some time in the future just like the one recently read out at an EGM

You're spot on with the last paragraph there, JamesD, and yes the letter hsould be responded to by the club (though I'm 100% sure they won't considering the histriy of legal wranglings with FOCR).

The only problem with you're post is that you've preceded your message of unity by stirring the pot yourself, conveying information relating to FOCR which is one of the factions concerned. I've no bother with you speaking out on the matter, but following it up with that just smacks of hypocrisy...... yet again

Chipster, look I approached someone in the FOCR to appeal for calm, as in my opinion that is what is required to the extent that those who have done wrong need to be dealt with, while at the same time, all members should be uniting as a club should be.

I was not stirring, at least that was not my intention. I was just conveying the current official position of FOCR as was conveyed to me. If what I wrote was seen as stirring the I apologise, but I for one would like to see everything now out in the open and dealt with once and for all.

For the first time in an age this clubs members united on Tuesday night to try and save our club and get it back from the chairman.

Point taken, JamesD, I'm just hoping we can stop every tiny detail about the operation of this club being vented, bitched about and used against us. Don't get me wrong, I'm no supporter of the chairman, but we as members (and as users of the forums) have to think before we blurt out every little detail and cause half the other forum users to lose their rag for the umpteenth time.

As we keep saying, its a time for level headedness and constructive discussion, and for everyone involved to move on. I don't know what was said at the meeting the other night, but if it passed off without people coming to blows then it has to be seen as a very positive thing. Lets not stoop to the level of the County Board and the hurlers by airing our dirty washing in public on a dily basis.

If anyone's nose is out of joint because they have proposals to save the club or are running for committee, then let them speak to the committee directly to ensure they get their speak, or so they can attend next time. Otherwise, lets leave the running/saving of the club (or the calling of the EGM/vote) to those that have the means and the will to see it through.
