The one in Piccadilly Circus, London has gone. Think that was the original store, and a real shame to see that go. HMV seem to have the monopoly for music stores which cant be healthy.

you won't be leaving the house in 2009 Anto!

It's still only 20% off DVDs in the UK so I'm hoping for another fall before I buy the Wire series 5.

They are not taking vouchers now in any store ( bar a certain week near the start of dec not sure why )you have to join the list of creditors check the website there is some infor up there about it but i wouldnt hold out much hope for getting your money as people with vouchers are usually bottom of that list.

Balls, they are Virgin vouchers so I can probably use them elsewhere but my plan was to blow them on some toys in March when I'm back in Blighty.

The Zavvi in Athlone shut down this week. I bought a few cheap PC games before this so I was happy enough. Their choice of music always disappointed me though - not wide enough for my taste.

Anyone know if the Cork one is closed or taken over? I was there on New Year's day. It's very close to the HMV so it would be odd if they took it over.

You may be in luck. The one remaining store open at the moment is in Tottenham Court Road, they're clearing up fast though.

Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........

I was in the Cork store today. The value is good but not great I have to say. I heard HMV are moving up to the top of Patrick st. when it goes. Nicer premises IMO. Pure rumour though.

The store may be still open but no store has been accepting vouchers since they went into administration. That's why you have to write to the administrators asking for a refund.
