I'm nearly sure I read the FAI sponsored one of your matches to help ye out!
Anyway, not gona get caught up by it!!
Does anybody know where Cork are gtting all the money to sign these players? (btw before any cheap jibe, etc I know the irony of me asking that).
apparently they offered o donnell 40% more than dundalk- and also offered Faz a couple of hundred more than dundalk!! 2 good signings but the players will go where the money is!
Is coughlan going to bankroll the club for a while, or are they just going to be in debt? (can see sponsorship money, gate money, etcb being down for most clubs this season and it doesnt like they get any reali income from their supporters ie via trust money, etc!)
Not wumming, just cant see how theyre gona keep it up for the whole season without a sugardaddy helping out!!
DAN CONNOR HATES CITY, HE HATES LANGERS

Nope can confirm that they did not.
Tommy No Bobs
They key word in there for me is apparently. Thiss all seems to be based on the word of Connor and forgive me if Im not quick to believe the bull****ter.
If we offered the same as Dundalk then Id imagine theres a good chance we'd get him.....Thats not saying we did, I dont have a clue what we offered.
But I do know that Coughlan wont be throwing money away. The budget is there and Doolin will be working within it. Its a buyers market at the minute and our wage bill will be significantly smaller than last season.
Given that we would have one of the biggest turnovers in the league then it makes sense that we would be able to spend more money than Dundalk on wages if that was the case.
We have 20(i think including Greg) players signed atm. 4 of them are young fellas that will mostly play A championship and u20 and Im sure are on very small money(one I know is for a fact)...Duggan, Deasy, Eoin Forde, Tim Kiely. 2 others are part time O Connor and O Neill.
That leaves 14 full time first teamers. Now god knows what we're paying the 2 Latvians but they didnt exactly have teams flocking for them, same with Greg O Halloran.
Of the other 11, 5 re-signed on significantly lower wages(hence Kearney leaving).
We signed 3 others then (Connor, Faz, O Donnell).
People must remember the tables have turned. Players realise they wont be getting the money they once were. If we were throwing money around we would have kept Kearney and Mick Devine. Both walked because of the significantly lower wages they (and everyone else) were offered.
I dont know the exact figures, but going by the above were not even in the same ballpark as last year.
Yes they did
Give it a rest corkboy. You're wrong
It is budgeted that our turnover will be down, significantly. Coughlan spoke about this at the fans forum. It was 1.5 million last year.
It'l still be higher than most if not all other clubs though and therefore we can pay higher wages than other clubs.
So unless you know our expenditure and know that that is higher than our new budgeted turnover then you're just guessing.
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week
This is great crack to be honest...
Never knew so many people from Longford and Drugheda were so up to date with the financial workings of CCFC...It is quite amusing really to read some of the info from 'reliable sources' within the club...
Believe me when I tell you that those 'reliable sources' know nothing about the day to day running of the club...Everyone down here knows who they are, there are 2 so called 'reliable sources' and none of them are even involved in the club...
How can anyone from Drogheda or Dundalk seriously ask where CCFC are getting money to sign new players and keep a straight face...
The facts are as follows and people can try and twist them inside out and upside down but the facts remain the facts...
1. No Player under contract when the club came out examinership is owed money...
2. The license being provisional had nothing to do with financial issues...
3. No cheque issued by the club has ever bounced...
4. Since the new owner took over all players, staff and employess of the club have been paid on time to date...
Now I will let ye all get back to your rumours...![]()

Yet Ive never claimed otherwise. Im simply looking at our squad last year and that wage bill, comparing it to the squad this year taking into accounts wage cuts etc and saying that it doesnt seem crazy that the wages would be cut down to around the 20k Coughlan spoke about at the start as being sustainable
Not at all. I would be very shocked if our turnover this year wasnt 3/4 times yours.
If you take out your directors imput what was your turnover last season? Remembering you had no real main sponsor, crowds or around 1500(?) etc.
If you can find this out then we can compare them.
You came out of examinership with no one involved willing to put money in to keep the club professional.
Coughlan has put a lot of money in so far to pay off wages and keep the club afloat until the season starts and money starts coming it. We have been upgrading Bishopstown(our training pitches also).
He is not prepared to do this in the long term though and has budgeted as such.
Really? Id imagine our sponsorship will be significantly higher than yours next season. It certainly was more than 3/4 times yours last season.
Can I ask what your weekly budget is btw? Just to get an idea of what the 3/4 times your talking about is?
On the Mathews compo, I honestly have no idea what will happen there. If its to be paid itl be coming out of Coughlans pockets.
Dont get me wrong, I dont trust him, I dont think Id trust anyone with my club again. Until the fans own the club I wont be happy or comfortable.
I simply dont think 14 full time players, most on wage reductions as well as some part timers and kids is a ridiculous amount for a team with one of the if not the biggest turnovers in the country.
Not strange at all...
Drogs and City are 2 different cases...
In our case the club has a new owner who had to lodge 500,000 into a bank account to satisfy the examiner that he had the finances to take over the club...
In your case you left the same people who almost bankrupt (wait they did bankrupt ye) the club and left it on the brink of folding forever in place and those people did not have to lodge half a million into a bank account to prove they could continue the business as a viable entity...All ye had to do was get the FAI to bail ye out...
I freely admit to knowing nothing about what's going on in Cork at the moment to be honest. In fact in the previous posts I didn't even say I fully believed what I'd heard which was solely on that one issue. So if I could go back to the post where I said I was leaving the thread with my hands up in the air that would do me thanks. I genuinely don't care as much as you might be thinking so if you or the other Cork people would like to continue the arguing with Drogheda people or whoever else that'll do me just dandy.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
