I don't remember Tom Coughlan sacking anyone.
I remember the club withdrawing an agreed contract after the other party refused to sign it.
Furthermore, Alan Mathews took a two year sabbatical from the bank when he signed with City so at best he had a two year contract with an option to renew, I'd guess that both parties would have had to agree to that extension.
I hope Alan Mathews gets what he deserves to by the way.
From what I've heard the conversation went something like "Get your jackeen arse back to Dublin" (that's what Mathews alleges are the exact words TC used). "Does that mean I'm sacked?" "Take it whatever way you want" "You can't do that, I've got a contract" "We'll see about that." Now obviously that's his version but it'll be interesting to see what way it goes. Employment law is weighted in favour of the employee.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Did Alan Mathews tell you about his extra requests, the apartment, the car and what he did with the car keys while he was bad mouthing everyone at Cork City?
It's no surprise to me that Mathews is spreading rumours about Cork City all over Longford and Drogheda, I've come to learn that it's his preferred mode of operation.
We'll see what fraction of the rumoured €300k he'll end up with, there are two sides to every story and somewhere in between is the truth.
I know alan matthews personally and that is the biggest load of tosh ive ever read.If he was that type of person he would have walked when the **** hit the fan last season.
Your chairman is living in dreamworld and if I were a CCFC Supporter id be very worried as to the future of your club.

I don't give a **** who you know personally [though it does explain your obsession with CCFC].
Why would he walk away from well over €100k p.a. when he knew [as a financial advisor and member of the FMAI would, and from his frequent conversations with Tom Coughlan during Examinership] that an investor was coming in and he'd end up getting all his back pay and his €50k bonus for a Setanta Cup win, you're the one spouting 'tosh'?
I've witnessed his antics first hand, I've heard his petty digs in the media, I've heard his claims he'd make sure we didn't get a licence until he got his money [when he was still our manager] and I've heard just as much anecdotal evidence to confirm my opinion as the anecdotal 'evidence' you've heard [it seems from the rumour monger himself] that's made your mind up about the CCFC chairman.
I'm not having the woll pulled over my eyes about Tom Coughlan, I'm well aware of his faults and his limitations.
I'm always concerned about the future of CCFC, in fact of the league as a whole.

Funny, as a GUFC supporter this time last year, when your chairman was living in dreamworld with talks of ful-time football and E20 tickets, you weren't worried at all. In fact, you actively ran with the bull and slagged anyone who dared question it. Any chance you can at least be consistent?

I am not rumour mongering maybe you should get onto all the national newspapers and John Delaney if its not true.

Thanks dodge and the price of the Tickets was actually €25 and Season Tickets at €250 which myself and the GUST representatives fought tooth and nail but we were overuled by the majority who like the rest of the country believed the Celtic Tiger was still flying high.
The prices were reduced to €15 and this seasons tickets are €199 as well as our playing budget being slashed by 50%.

I never said you were, you're just acting as the messanger boy for the rumour monger.
If what's not true? What Longfordian claims Mathews said? I'll be sure to get onto all the national newspapers and the FAI to tell them that a few of Alan Mathews buddies are spreading rumours about CCFC on an anonymous internet forum, I'd say that's well up their list of priorities right now, ffs!
