Full Time Clubs this season and last?

    Last This

    Bohs, Bohs
    Cork, Cork?
    Derry, Derry
    Rovers, Rovers
    Galway,
    St Pats
    Drogs
    Harps

What are Shams and Dundalk part time clubs? Galway and Harps the full time set up did not seem to work, Drogs with into Examinership, Pats Special K pulled the plug after the betting scandal there was no chance of them ever staying full time after. So just 4 full time teams this year compared to double that last year. Fair enough to think the standard will drop imo !

You may have heard it, but its not true.

We have reduced our squad from 23 x full-time players, to 16 x full-time players - which will the be supplemented by part-time players from the reserve/youth sides.

The full-time set-up isn't financially viable in this country. There's not enough support for the league and I'd rather have more clubs going part-time and staying in the league than throwing money down the drain and risking their futures.

He means the actual Rovers, not Shamrock F.C.

Thanks for the tip young fella but I'll stick with what I call my own team. It was a Rovers fan who posted it so the Shams fan knew he was referring to Rovers, not shams.

Growing up in Dublin in the '80s the only Rovers were 'De Rovers', Shamrock that is.

Have to say myself if I ever heard anyone mentioning 'Rovers' it was always Shamrock Rovers I'd be thinking of and Sligo Rovers were just Sligo!!

    GO ON The Rovers!

lets not get into this arguement again.

In Sligo if you say "Rovers" people instantly know you are talking about Sligo Rovers. Down here we call Shamrock Rovers, "Shams" or "Shamrock" since Cook has been here. But anywhere else if i say im a Rovers fan, people will think it Shamrock im talking about.
