I don't know the man but I'm sure some fans must have bumped into him over the years..
I only saw one game where Joey played when he signed for Shamrock Rovers at the end of his footballing career.
I'll never forget it, he came on a sub with about 20 minutes to go on the left wing. He tortured his marker, nutmegs, jinking left and right, leaving him on árse time after time. It was the first time I heard the entire crowd at a game chant a players name "Joey Joey Haverty".
For those 20 minutes he was a joy to watch, a showman and a character.

I remember him playing for Drums at the end of his career. Little left winger who loved the banter with both the crowd and the opposition. I was only a kid but I still remember him.
