I think this could be the end of Joe football wise. No doubt an extended break from football will be in order, so out for the rest of the season.

Provided that Chris Hughton takes over in the interim and steers them to safety, I'd see Newcastle looking for a new higher profile manager.
Having said that if Chris does well, maybe he will get a chance. Looking way down the line, there are precious few potential Ireland managers out there.

A man who never turned down an opportuntiy to play for his country.

Hopefully he now does whatever is best for his health. I've heard he gets a million if Newcastle stay up whether he is at the helm or not, so lay low Joe!

the man is back on his feet and looking well, a bit slimmer i think.

says he wants to get back in the game and has even thrown his hat in the ring for the scots job.

he talks about twice missing out on the irish job which he described as being the dream job for him.

looks like that dream wont ever come true at this stage. a pity in my opinion. i reckon he would have made a good ireland manager. newcastle would still be a premier league club if he hadnt got sick again

Joe is actually a great manager and done wonders at Wimbledon and Newcastle for the short while he was there.

I hope his health worries are behind him, but he's always the first to admit he usually gets asked about his ticker when interviewed for every job.

Great to hear his health has improved although I dont know if the high stress job of football management is the best idea for him anymore.
