I think the price is to watch Ireland. Same price for the competitve games no matter who the opposition is.

If we need to beat Italy to top the group in October the same people moaning would gladly pay 50 euro for tickets.

I disagree ... If the FAI are committed to getting fans, real fans to see the game then they should be charging less for tickets. I coach a youth side and none of them are going to see the match tonight. All of the parents are telling me it's too expensive for them to go ... Fair enough €50 for one person but if you have two kids then you're paying in excess of €100.

We should be selling tickets at schoolboy prices, the way it used to be in Landsdowne to ensure that a new generation of support is getting a chance to see Ireland play.

nah the list won't be cleared. i'm sure some people will have taken the hit on tonight's game, plus you have to remember the number of returns from clubs etc. Block bookers get a certain number of tickets, the rest go to other people. BBers will be there in force, but no more tickets will be made available to them unless BBers drop out of the scheme. And I don't think that is happening. Returns from people other than BBers don't go to BBers, they go on general sale, so the list is likely to remain.

70 is just for the two finals, there are plenty of big GAA games which are far less in Croker, Leinster final, quarters, semis.

The FAI tickets for Lansdowne really should be graded a bit better than upper 70 and lower 50. They could be selling tickets for the upper at the edges for 25 going up to the lower in the middle for 80. Plenty of choice then for people like we see at other internationals.

Section 301 which doesn't even have any pitch in front of it is 70euro whilst so it section 305 which is on the half way line! Great pricing alright.

If you think that is great pricing then what about the gaa charging the same pricest for the furthest back seat in the upper canal as a front row in the lower cusack?????
I think the AI finals were 80 last year. The semis were 45 with the most of the others in croker 35. So overall considering that the FAI has about 4 competitive home games a year i think 50 is fair enough. But i do think there should be cheaper tickets for families and kids etc.

The corner between the Davin end and the Cusack stand is the schoolboy area. It's where all the Mexican waves started in previous games.

That'd be the capacity with the hill out of use, wouldn't it? Loads of empty spaces, I'd say 50k is about right.

One other factor was the amount of People who would go to both the Rugby and soccer.The hit is so big for the rugby games there isnt a hope in hell of selling out a soccer game 4 days later. (cant believe the price of the rugby tickets absolute robbery).

The world and his mothere will be looking for tickets for the Bulgaria and Italy games now and the touts will make a killing.

50,000 is about right for us in Ireland. The surplus is usually made up of people who have never been to a match before and couldnt give a monkeys either way.

Last night was as close to Lansdowne as weve been with the Davin acting as the South Bucket and the East and West stands silent as usual

While its steep, €50 a seat is about right. Those of us who have to travel long distance to every game can add about min. €50 to that seat price through petrol, grub and refreshments.

I know how you feel Junior......3 of us Total for flights was £6!.....but add on 2 rooms in hotel for the night, a few beers (well actually quite alot!) taxis and a bit of grub, we could have got a weeks holiday in the Med for the same.......that said wouldn't change it for the world

Thats it - £10 return flight, E50 for match, E45 for digs and with booze,grub and taxis probably another circa E150. Total in the region of 250-275E plus a day off work.

Great night tho and like you say I wouldnt change it for the world.

Ardee - The performance/product whatever you want to call it might have been ****e but that will never really be the difference between me going and not going to the game......finances on the other hand might be if the wife ever finds out what it costs.....
