I contacted Mick Noonan, Chairman of Pike yesterday afternoon, and he told me he'd lobby a bit of support amongst other clubs, which he did in all fairness. I believe the 'Boro were very sympathetic to the idea and also agreed to a postponment.95FM are going to bring this up on their Saturday Sports Show. I spoke to Mal Keaveney, and he found the whole situation farsical. What we need to do now is to keep publicising this. Just 'cos they've given in on this one doesn't mean they're going to do it in future. You're dealing with a particularly bad breed of human being at the upper echelons of LDMC Council. They are a rotten little clique, and are potentially very harmful to the prosperity of senior soccer in this town.
Can something big be put in the fanzine about this?

The Leader and The Echo both gave the whole issue decent coverage and called it as it was, albeit in a very, very nuetral sort of manner (which is their job and I'm not complaining about that) which was good to see. I think Pike deserve a lot of credit over their role in all of this but also there was one guy in the LDMC named by the Leader who tried to leave Limerick be this Sunday only to be outvoted. I can't remember his name which is a pity. For those who are interested apparently it was the FAI who forced the scruffy pirates into their climbdown.

I just feel that a rendition of "LDMC=SCUM" might be appropriate on Sunday.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

    Talking alfie Flanagan

is the fixtures secretary at the LDMC. Everything was fine untill suddenly the LDMC Biggots decided to have one over on Limerick and told him to change the fixture of pike/boro to sunday morning, a full week ahead of schedule. We'll get the names of the ones who are anti limerick on the LDMC and burn effigies of them oh yea thats what i want!
