The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Des Cahill mentioned this this morning on Morning Ireland so hopefully that will shame the Junior Council into reversing their petty smallminded parochial smalltime decision. F**K the Local junior soccer scene it makes me sick just listening to them go on about how good their teams are.blah..blah..blah.

Come on the Blues lets show these C**ts what we are made of and bring Premier Senior soccer to this town even if half the population dont want and certainly dont deserve it

    Absolute disgrace but no surprise.

These problems have existed as long as I can rememeber.

Words fail me and anything I write would be libelous.

It would be terrible to hav eto concede home advantage.

Somebody mentioned to me the possibility of the game being switched to Saturday but I would imagine that probably won't be allowed if the FAI want all games played at the same time on Sunday?
The ball is round and has many surprises.

All the games aren't being played on Sunday afternoon. The only two are Limerick/Kildare and Monaghan/Athlone. The other four are all being played on Saturday night. The five in the Premier are on Sunday. I even checked it with the League on Friday and they confirmed it.

It could be as not all games are on at the same time on Sun. Also it's a cup final in real terms and whatever happens in our game will have no effect on any other.

Cant help but think though that we are about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory hardly the best preparation for such a big game

    another scenario

    What could happen here?:
Pike Rovers are home to Janesboro in the FAI next sunday morning...a game that could attract up to 500-600 people easy. This will be good because we could keep a couple of hundred there for the big game. However a nightmare secenaio could occur should there be extra time in this game, and heres why: Pike v 'Boro, kick off @ 10.45. Scheduled 90 mins incl half time, injury breaks etc-match finished@12.35ish. Extra time, 2 x 15, leaves the game over at 1.05ish. Eircom league rules state that the playing pitch and facilities must be made available to the travelling team one hour prior to kick off, ie 1.00pm sharp. We don't want to leave anything to chance on this one, and especially do nothing illegal which allows Kildare to appeal. This has got to be sorted out pronto, or else we could be a laughing stock. I feel any infringement by us won't result in a nice €250 fine.

    ahhh lads thanks

Jesus lads ye really filled in the public on whats happening! Ok first off the LDMC is a self appointed body who run the local leagues. Limerick District Management comittee or something. They knew Limerick had a big match at 2 next sunday so they put all big junior matches at the same time! As if that wasnt bad enough they then ordered our ladndlords Pike Rovers to play a cup match (which doesnt have to be played next weekend) in their own pitch on the morning of our game. Two games on the one pitch in other words. Pike tried in vain to get out of this and the munster body refused to overrule the LDMC So bog ball is in store on sunday. U see the LDMC know that if if if Limerick were to be promoted our appeal to the public would rocket and they are very much against this.

Limerick are welcome to use Station Road on Sunday, free beer for all Limerick supporters

thats despicable. I have to say I'm not surprised though, often the worst attitudes to this league are held by people in junior football who have a major chip on their shoulders about professional Irish football. Surely the FAI could be called in on this one?

Can Pike move their game to the Boro?

Not that they should have to - but the LDMC are really bang out of order on this. Still, what do we expect.

Pike offered to move the FAI tie, and play a league match away instead. It's not as if all FAI games are on this weekend, or have to be played on Sunday. Fairview got back in and they still have to play their first round match, yet the beloved LDMC have decreed that all third round games must be played. This is disgusting...plain and simple. Despicable, dirty and corrupt. I wondered for many years why people wanted to be co-opted onto the junior council .When I was involved at junior level, the AGM every year was packed with club officials wanting seats on the committee. There has to be a reason for this but I'm at a loss for what it could possibly be.Maybe its time for one of those 'brown paper bag' tribunals to be opened into the rotten to the core, deceitful, corrupt, disgusting way these despots control the game in Limerick, and as to why they hate prosperity so much.We are living in the dark ages, and are being bullied by a band of gangsters.
I have spoken to a senior Pike official this afternoon, and they are adamant that there will be only one game played on the pitch on Sunday, because they feel thats all it will take with the current conditions. I can't see them risk being thrown out of the FAI Cup to accommodate us, and I can't say I blame them.
This behaviour makes my blood boil, it really does.

So what are you going to do about it? Any connections in the junior scene? Contact them. Don't think it will just be a waste of time. If enough people kick up a fuss it will be changed. Every right minded person involved in soccer in Limerick can see this is unacceptable so everyone here should be ringing around every contact they have to get this decision changed.

There is a lot of talk on this board. This is an opportunity for doing something, but it has to happen now. Who has rang 95fm. Who has rang the leader, chronicle etc. Or do we just do what Limerick FC always do and say "sure that's the way it is, everyone is out to get us, nobody likes us etc etc etc".

    Good News!!

The LDMC scum have had their hand forced and have bowed to the pressure and postponed thier game.

All is as it should be.

Fair play to Pike who stuck to their guns and really fought our side for us.
