I've tried every cd player in the house(just to make sure!) and its still the same!

I haven't listened to any CD's in weeks and weeks I'm afraid. Hoping to get up to speed over the weekend.

And KH I haven't forgotten you. I'll definitely get a replacement out to you next week.

Have you got it today? Some of them went out before the weekend and some after but you should have it by now alright. One was put in the post for you alright though

To my utter shame I haven't been on here in ages, and haven't been looking into this thread, but I'm still receiving cds regularly, the last couple of which I haven't listened to yet. One arrived today, which I now know is Jebus' effort. So I'll get the finger out and start listening and commenting.

I just hope I didn't miss my turn, did I?

Recognise only a handful so very much looking forward to it. First one looks familiar though...

Another fine effort there from Jebus, on all week in the car, which is the only place I get to listen to stuff these days.

Brilliant opening section. Ben Folds 5 is a great tune to open any comp with, Hello Tiger a cracking song from a band I've never heard tell of. Ilya K are a band I'm sure I've seen down here a couple of times, another great song as well. And Lemon Jelly you simply cannot go wrong with, love 'em.

Other highlights: Pavement, the Stones (one of their best songs, though I prefer Chris Farlowe's vocal to Jagger's on this one which to me is strikingly careless, very interesting to listen to), the sublime No Diggity, and that run from 10 to 13, of four bands that again I've never heard of but will definitely be checking into.

Liking it a great deal!

I've managed two listens so far (in between losing the CD three or four times since getting it!) and up to now I've been totally enamored with the following:

11. We Should Be Dead - I Fell In Love With You - Ireland - 2008 [listened without the track listing and thought this was some classic alt pop 80s band like Shopping Assistants, so was surprised at its year of release]
12. Phoenix - 1901 - France - 2009
13. she - Gum - Japan - 2008
14. Explosions In The Sky - Six Days At The Bottom Of The Ocean - USA - 2003

Rolling Stones never play that track anymore Monzo, apparently Jagger thinks it sounds too poppy and should never have been released

I came across it at the start of the Ray Liotta episode of ER and managed to track it down off the UK release of their 1966 album Aftermath, absolutely love it myself

Couldn't remember who put me on to that Ben Folds track and now I know, sorry Stann but cheers for it in the first place

Such a social faux pas when it comes to this sort of thing though

I'm still in anyway, but I would advocate both a recruitment campaign and a bloody purge, and possibly a pogrom as well.

I'll stay on as well, supposing I survive the purge.
