You really cannot say until after the MRI scan and the extent of ligament damage is ascertained. Could be just a couple of wks for a mild sprain to a few months with a bad sprain requiring surgery (a la James McCarthy). Looking at the picture it's his medial ankle ligaments that are in trouble (same as McCarthy from what I recall). X-ray showed no fracture which is a positive start, however, bad ligament damage especially in ankle region could almost be as bad as a break in terms of recovery time. Fingers crossed it is nothing serious and Seamus will be back fit in no time

Out for the season according to RTE
Where are you getting this? There's nothing online about it from what I can see. Isn't he still to have his scan on Monday?
Not sure how RTE could know that since he's not due to have his scan until Monday.
Due to have experimental heat treatment on the surface of the planet Mercury according to the BBC.
did that info come from Uranus?
Have you a link for that story? Can't find it on their site.
According to the Liverpool echo, the full extent of the damage won't be known until monday but he is expected to be out for weeks, rather than months: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/evert...0252-29187700/
Friend works with Everton, said it's too early to say how long he'll be out, but estimate is 2-3months. Can't see that as being concrete though.
Jesus, does this have to happen to every promising young Irish player?
Latest update on his injury.

Can't find the link online but being linked with Liverpool after Moyes says every player has his selling price. Its in todays gossip column on the BBC
Seamus Coleman is back in the Everton squad for this weekend's game with Aston Villa. A bit convenient that he didn't make himself available for his country...
On a serious note, I thought he was supposed to be out for months, not weeks?
Starts today. Brilliant news! Best of luck to Seamus
