    Bohs braced for Fenlon exit

League of Ireland champions Bohemians are braced for the departure of manager Pat Fenlon, according to a Wednesday morning newspaper report. The Irish Independent claims that Fenlon called a crisis meeting with players on Tuesday night to discuss his future. The development came hours after Jim Roddy stepped down as chief executive – a position he took up just five weeks ago – to take up a similar role with the City Centre Initiative in his native Derry.

Fenlon joined Bohs 13 months ago and succeeded in steering the Dalymount Park club to a record-breaking title success last season. Bohs followed their wide-margin League success – they finished 19 points clear of second-placed St Patrick’s Athletic – with victory in the FAI Ford Cup final against Derry City to complete the League and Cup Double. However, barely had the annus mirabilis come to an end but the club’s problems began to build.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Not surprising if Fenlon walks. He seems to like a cushy management job. He had it at Shels when they had the money to buy the league, then when the money ran out he left and ended up at derry after kenny had built a good side there with money available and walked from that when he wasn't doing too well to apparently walk into another job where apparently millions were to be available in a year or 2 and with a strong squad there already. Now it looks like he's walking from there when it seems they won't have the amount of money to spend as last season!!

I'd say he's raging now he didn't apply for the job at Dundalk where there seems to be money flying about!!! Although I feel Dundalk might be the lucky ones to avoid appointing Fenlon!!!

considering he went on national radio yesterday to deny the rumours flying round that he was leaving, i think your about as wrong as is possible about Fenlon as a manager. Things werent cushy at Shels (considering he paid players out of his own pocket when Ollie couldnt get the cash together) and they have not been cushy at Bohs (admittedly better than Shels but lots of sh!t going on behind the scenes).

Regarding your last point - you can say what you like but Fenlon is a winner. He did a super job at Bohs last year with the fourth highest budget - and i dont even like the narky little runt.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
