    Rice ready for Tallaght honour

Shamrock Rovers midfielder Stephen Rice says that nobody needs to remind the current Hoops squad of the importance of their debut season in Tallaght, saying that it will be "an honour" to be playing for the club as they end their long spell without a home. The Republic of Ireland Under-23 international says that the current players know that they are "the lucky group" that happen to be playing for the club at the right time.

"It is an honour to be playing for Rovers this season," said Rice. "A lot of players came to the club over the last few years in the hope that they would be there for the opening of the new stadium, so we know that we are the lucky group that happen to be at the club at the time when everything is coming together. There has been so much work put in by the board and by the fans that it will be fantastic to see the stadium opened."

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
