Did the FAI not have a plan when they took over 2 years ago that when it went back to a 10 team division it would be known as the Irish Premiership of something like that??

As far as I am concerned it is THE League, and that is what I will always refer to it as
    "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
    "Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

I think they backed down on the term "Premiership" after people gave out about it. They changed their minds to it only being a working title, which they quietly dropped.

Anyway, with the Irish League having adopted the premiership thing it would just get silly and confusing.

Even given the recession it would be very disappointing if the FAI couldn't get a title sponsor for the league for 2009

i would have absolutely no problem with it going back to the "Pat Grace's Famous Fried Chicken League of Ireland", if Pat is still frying chicken for a living.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Yes paudie, but you won't use the sponsor's name so at the momen a decision you will never make and one you wont use means your crying doesn't actually count.

I know shamrock rovers and Cork City and Drogheda utd. fans have the High Court still in mind. So THE BAR Council is an appropiate sponsor...

They have a volontary Assistance scheme too
    http://www.lawlibrary.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=542&m=f
What is the ‘Voluntary Assistance’ scheme?
Under our ‘Voluntary Assistance’ scheme, barristers provide services directly to non-government organisations working with members of the community who cannot afford legal services."

I realise Volontary maybe alien, legal termology to many supporters but really its nothing to be afraid of. You should be worried if you didn't know of the scheme already.

    The Deducted Points League

    The Revenue Commissioners League
    The Model Club

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

It should be called The Football League, so that RTE would have no choice but to use the term, instead of steadfastly calling it sacair.

It really shows how well the FAI is promoting the 2009 League of Ireland when at this point a number of fans don't know for sure what the official title is. Not very encouraging. I wonder if I sent an email to the FAI would it take a 3 man committee to 'appoint the right name'?

By the way I like some of the alternate names people are coming up with - but don't give up the day jobs.
