thought we played excellent second half.. derek glynn was very unlucky with his header...
adrian murphy was much missed last night and will be out for six weeks
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
the club are doing drainage work on it as we speak.thats why our game against shamrock rovers was called off as the pitch was closed..we played in sligo rovers instead..

We apparently lost 4-0 to Derry today but seemingly it was an improvement!
was at the game in the brandywell.. dont have the lineup to hand but we had a new goalie making his debut he was apparently on trial no sign of the lativan lad on trial.colm rigby from youths played again.. shane o'brien town youth came on ... chris kelly and mark hutchison werent asked back at all... spoke to adrian murphy at the game he will be out for three to four weeks..ray kenny didnt travel up.. i did a rough draft of the squad and will have it up tomorrow nite..
glynn should have scored in the second half he blazed over the bar in the second half with the goal at his mercy.. not a lot happened really.. derry were way taller and stronger than us..
apparently we are playin shiven rovers on tuesday night away ( they are based in the roscommon district league). ronnie b do you know anything about them considering they are out your way.. i think shiven rovers are out in ballygar which is a five miles out the galway road from roscommon..

they play in the roscommon and distric league...not exactly the best standard now...but they have a good setup up there...the town trained there a few times in the last while...
I know shiven, played against them many moons ago when their pitch was called "sheep **** " rovers. Some transformation.

I played on that pitch in Newbridge years ago and we had to clear sheep off the field before we could start the game .......................... I think its been done up though as the RDL play Oscar Traynor cup games there.
Any more news on the friendly on Tuesday?? - wouldnt mind having a look!!
as promised this is the town squad to the best of my knowledge i was too far from the dugout this time!

How did the former Athlone Town contingent play?
As for Shiven. Decent facilities out there. Cant remember exact directions, its
been a few years since I was out that direction but ...
If your heading from Athlone, head out the Tuam Road as far as Ballyforan,
then take the Ballygar Road and a few miles out that road theres a sign for
Newbridge. Shiven is out that road somewhere
Doh! Just copped that that game isnt on, so ingore the directions![]()
