Just seen on Bohs site we were beaten 3-0. Anyone at it able to post a report? Or teams?

Yeah, Bohs were much the stronger team as you'd expect they had all their big guns playing and they meant business. They were just back from a training camp and looked a good bit further on in their fitness. Missed the first goal but the last two were good long range strikes. We used 21 players including Stephen Gough who seems to be training with us again. It was a tough game on a heavy pitch and should do our lads good, they had do a lot of chasing after the ball. Ray Kenny played and looks in good nick still, played well. He was due to sign today apparently along with Jim Sheridan who came on as a sub. I have a team sheet here but I'm way too lazy to type out all the names. Mostly the same lads that played against Westport plus the few named above. Brian McCarthy came on for Bohs but one of our officials was saying he's still expected to be coming to us on loan according to Alan Gough.

Stephen Gough must be able to drive from Longford to Bray and back again with his eyes shut by this stage!!! We still need to get in another striker or two. Bit bare up top. And if Sheridan, Gough and McCarthy sign we have lots to play in the back four!!! So strikers are the main priority now!!!

Forgot to mention Adrian Murphy picked up a foot injury as well. Going for an x-ray today or on Monday. So definitely a striker or two needed, problem is the money I suppose.

Not a bad result against a strong Bohs side. Missed Crowe's goal but the other two were great strikes.

Whats the story with McCarthy? Is he joining us on loan or staying with Bohs?

Ronnie B said the pitch is opposite Portiuncula Hospital. See Google maps, it's just a bit outside Ballinasloe by the looks of it.

Think its on the left hand side as you're heading for Galway. You'll see the gates to the pitch from the main road. Not fully sure now so better off checking google!!

I actually meant to put in my previous post that Martinho would be along later to post it up, reliable as ever. I could see you studying it from the other side of the ground. I thought the same about the new home jersey, very similar to the one we were wearing in Kenny's time. I'm sure it'll look better when the sponsor and crest are on it but it's a little cheap looking in my opinion. Uhlsport are a company most associated with keepers' gear so I wonder if Alan Gough had a contact there or maybe Jacko Smyth who was there today and would be very friendly with some of our committee?.

Jim Sheridan was woeful. He looks like a fat Luke Hardy. He should really just stick to the film directing.

I was just going to ask how Sheridan played for you? Looks like he hasn't changed then, I never seen him have a good game for us. How did Russo play? He used to have one great game and then go missing in the next. Likes to believe some of the hype around him but he's only a decent First Division player. You have 2 good ones in McCartney and Jinks though!!

It's hard to say how anyone looked really against a strong Bohs team but Russo didn't do an awful lot in his time on the field. Jinks showed some nice touches as did Craig Tone when he came on. As was said Sheridan looked way off full fitness. It's early days yet I suppose, we'll see how the other games go.

mccartney was poor and thats been nice.. Looks pacey but did nothing with it.. Dont think we got anything from that game.. Bohs never broke a sweat all game.. To be expected from championship winning side at full strength and not making many changes til late in the game
