    City vs Ipswich

...according to a report in today's evening echo, ipswhich will be coming over for a friendly in February/March
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?

hopefully they will,Ipwich are a quality division 1 side who were in the Premiership a few seaons back but would it be too much to hope to us get one of the big boys over. It's been a long while since we've seen a liverpool or Man u over to play our 'little oirish' club.Alright celtic came over a few years back minus Henrik Larrson who I was gutted not to see, plus bolton came over a few months back but you wouldn't exactly call them giants of the english game,ok Jay Jay is brialliant but who the hell was the fella who scored for them, never heard of him before and never since.Anyway imagine if we did get a really big club to play us the price city would charge for the tickets would be a joke, remember 30 pounds for a stand ticket for the celtic game.We live in hope,if shels can play Man ure and Derry city can play Barcelona what's stopping us.

30 is good ..... Imagine paying 30 + flight + hotel + This years shirt no. 4 + other stupid merchanise that you wouldn't dream of buying but you spend the money cos you might never be here again.

It all adds up you know ....

Anyway ..... Russian league finished 1st Nov. ..... i'd rather play one of those team, better competition for us.

    Won't it be lovely............?

Won't it be lovely to see such esteemed visitors "grace" our unworthy turf ( I'm talking about the barstoolers - not Ipswich )

Can't wait to see all those new Ipswich shirts ( all new Christmas presents I'm sure ) proudly on display.

And to hear the sons ask their fathers "who's their number 10 - the fella' with the white boots and funny hair?" only to get a curt reply ........ "don't know son, never seen him before"

...........I'll tell you who he is son ( and dad ) .......... he's George. George O'Callaghan........only the best player in the LoI.......

...... and unlike any of the Ipswich players he's a superstar. A superstar you could see every week if you got off your arse and came out to support your "local" team from Cork instead of your "local" team from Norfolk or wherever they come from.

i think it would be a competitive match.
    theyve got a nice stadium,
and really, do you think people would be walking around in Ipswich shirts?
course not, i mean iwe all know the Irish have an unhealthy intrest in the english league but i cant remember any wolves shirts on Irish backs a couple of seasons back.
(ps. they had a great support over, very nice people too)

-p.s. cant wait for the new jersey, will it have a new crest on it??????
    any updates there?

yeah, i know two ipswich fans, they were a big big club. (at least there won't be any away shirts in the shed this time though)
it'll be a nice little earner for city if it happens.

Fonzi - I was in town today and I saw a guy with a West Brom crest on his jacket.

For the love of God who supports them? In England they are few and far between, yet here in Cork we got one.

I'd say for every English Club we probably have some misguided, hobbats that claim undying support for their "team" ....... just like Spillane and "HIS Chelsea".

So don't be surprised to see many blue Ipswich shirts on display when they come over.

Moustachio Motormouth in the Donie Forde loves to accuse people of being "Manyoo" fans, but let it slip the other night that 'his team' is...Aston Villa! What a grim life that man must have.

Another mad thing---------say a guy driving a bit 18 wheeler with
this ENORMOUS bath towel draped across the seats. Red and while in colour--Sheffield United!! Jeez who in their right mind would want to follow Sheffield Utd?? Takes all kinds I suppose.
