Bend It Like Beckham
Escape to Victory
Mike Bassett England Manager
The Miracle of Berne
Mean Machine
The Arsenal Stadium Mystery
Shaolin Soccer
The goalkeeper's anxiety at the penalty kick
A film called "World Cup" (I think) involving an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Palestinian militants. All concerned realise their common humanity due to World Cup 82
A film starring Ally McCoist called "A Shot at Glory"
"The Disappearance of Finbar" - never saw it, but as far as I recall this Irish movie involved a promising schoolboy footballer.
Are there any other football-themed or football-related movies I've missed out on?

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?
"No, I drink to help me mind my own business....can I get you one? (c) Ronnie Drew

Work is the curse of the drinking classes
Gregory's Girl !
This is a brilliant film. There's sod all football in it though. Finbar from the title gets a spell with Grasshopper Zurich, comes home after making a mess of it, gets depressed, runs away to Sweden without telling anyone and his friend tries to find him. It's a cracking film though, much better than my baldy synopsis makes it sound!Originally posted by Quack

The ball is round and has many surprises.
When Saturday Comes - good film, liked the rags to riches theme in it; and of course Manchester Utd losing at the end,Originally posted by Quack

Escape to Victory - probably one of the greatest war/football films EVER, and one of the few to star real life soccer players (Bobby Moore RIP, Pele etc), amazed this one got no other mention, anyone else seen it??
Munster 33-6 Gloucester
Aint revenge sweet?!
'There's only one Jimmy Grimble' was alright too.

Some goal, alright. In filming he got it right 1st time but, the director forgot to turn on the camera. Took Pele another 20 attempts to do it to the directors satisfaction.Originally posted by Junior

If I remember right, Kevin O'Callaghan was his name, defender maybe?? Not sure.

i remeber being very annoyed about 'escape to victory'
Kevin O'Callaghan was the sole irish representative, he was a winger who they cast as a goalie. then before the big game they intentionally broke his arm so that the nazis would let stallone go in goals, of course, rocky goes on to concede four.
Think i heard of it before like...Originally posted by Shed End John

Sly Stalone in goals.

purely belter ,thats the one.escape to victory is not only the greatest football film ever but the greatest film of any genre.any takers for a tv film about a man who unlike the rest of his neighbours refuses to paint his house in the local teams colours leading to fighting in the neighbourhood and the break up of his marriage.
Work is the curse of the drinking classes
A crappy crappy film about a Belfast boy who wants to play for Belfast United, gets dancing lessons (the samba of course), and suddenly can play like a Brazilian. He also manages to get the girl.
Filmed in Tolka Park and Blackrock College for the most part.
The worst hour and a half of my life.
Oh no not them again
the scene in kes was a football scene.Brian Glover was wearing full Man. United kit and cast himself as Bobby Charlton there was also an in screen score after each goal and kes was in nets
Work is the curse of the drinking classes
"The Official DVD of the 2002 World Cup" was a great one. 2 hours of non-stop football.
Oh.
Maybe you should put her on a leash, agent-man.
