How it stands now for 3rd spot.....!

OK, forget the meaningless battle for the League - the real excitment is for 3rd spot.
    Tonights results:

    City 1 - 0 Derry
Notre Dame BBall Club 1 - 1 Waterford
    Longford 2 - 0 SPA

The way it stands now after tonight's games is as follows:

Waterford cannot catch us now - 8 pts behind with 2 games left.

"Notre Dame" - 8 pts behind with 3 games ( so a draw for us in our remaining 2 games will put them out because of our far superior goal difference ).

SPA - 8 pts behind with 4 games left ( v. Longford, Drogs, Notre Dame & Bohs - not easy ) They must win 3 and hope we loose our last 2 games. If we beat Drogs they have to win all 4 games!!!!!!!!!!!

    A bit early I know but ............... tonight's was a big win!

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    Looks good...

    03 Cork City 34 12 14 8 42 31 11 50
    04 St. Patrick's Athletic 32 9 15 8 42 40 2 42
    05 Shamrock Rovers 33 10 12 11 40 39 1 42

Hopefully Drogheda will win their next game which would make them safe by the time they play us at the Cross next Sunday. A win there and we're home dry I reckon.

Lads lets just go for the win in the two games that we have left.
Let's get it going for this year the away support.

Technically Longford could overtake us also as they have ( believe it or not ) 5 games left = potentially 15 points.

But the good news is that even if they did we would still get that Euro spot as they have already qualified via the FAI Cup.

Just a bit of useless information
