what do we need for next season

with europe on the horizon and another hard year ahead of us in the premier division i'd love to know what you think we need to focus on for next season on and off the pitch.

both myself and xlex agree ( yes thats right ) that we need a top quality midfielder and i think we need to push sponsership of the club up, a lot of teams have more than one major sponser and every cent helps.
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........

we agree on a second thing... and I think it's a big priority...

Shorts sponcership... sponcer for the back of the shirt...

A large sign erected outside the ground with all main sponsers listed outside.

Bar completion... Corporate astro turf leagues.... big bucks...

    and the midfielder too ???

the shorts sponsership is a big one, if possible a move for someone with a good marketing background to get involved with the club and for the web site to be upgraded with sponsers getting nice space on the homepage

I also think that a supporters trust should be set up... We need to follow the Galway before we get in financial trouble...

I think the club needs to take another step and thats to get a full-time person of two (Marketing/Secretary)... (which will be a requirement of the licence)

A office in the town where you can buy merchandise and match tickets... A full-time drive for corporate sponsership and hospitality

i agree with all that, we need to really run with things now that we are the cup champions and in europe, the name is on the lips of a lot of people now we need it in their head, we are the team for the midlands and have a lot of support in cavan and roscomon, we need to build on this support and push forward, an office is a great idea, a focal point that people know where to go to if they need tickets and info

and on a seperate point, stewards without the attitude, at a recent home game i said to one of them that the gate the bottom of the stand was locked with a pad lock and chain and in the event of a fire etc it would be very dangerous, he told me to f**k off and mind my own business and the business of not letting certain flags in is just a joke.

    Exclamation ...........................................

What i'd suggest is to start getting the 8,000 + at Lansdowne rd. into the Flansiro.

    Gate receipts = Money

Bodies in the gate = Easier to get sponsorship

I'd see this as one of the biggest things LTFC need to work on.

I'd fear that, with you being up 3-4 years and get average 1,000 (or whatever it is, i dont know) in the gate, i'd worry that the club gets a name for having five men and a dog through the gate, stigma.

Even if the average was upped to 3,000. It would make things easier all the time.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Well it's certainly between the two louth clubs for the lowest form of eL life.... Think you should be more worried about you own situation at the moment....

Totally agree with that, but ultimately the commercial side is more important - look what Home Farm have financed with sod all through the gate....

Would'nt be too worried about the Drogs Macy.......Almost safe from relegation , a good new board...now the most financially secure club in the league, and solid plans for the best stadium in the league.

How can it be solid plans, when youse haven't decided which route you are going to take.....

Financially sound now (but for how long), but with help from the FAI that most clubs can only dream off......

Absolutely no help from the FAI - quite the opposite actually. Some sound financial backers now behind the club along with several developers outbidding each other for the ground. Looks like the Drogs will be playing in a new 8000 all-seater in two years. Only thing is that the proposed new site is i mile away...in Co. Meath!!!

No help from the FAI, this time.....

Thought the proposals were for a 5000 or a 10000 seater anyway...... God help the poor unfortunates of County Meath.....

btw You should ask Rovers and Athlone how long it actually takes to get into a new ground...

Heard a whisper that the FAI will be looking for a good chunk of any money you get for your ground given that they actually own it anyway having bailed you out before...wouldn't be like the FAI at all to turn down money which they could be in any way possibly entitled to!
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
