Sligo Rovers will be holding open trials next Sunday 18th January from 1:30 to 4:00 on the Showgrounds Astro Turf for girls interested in playing for a Rovers ladies side which would compete in the Mayo League depending on the level of interest. The trials are open only to girls eligible for U-18 football. All those interested in attending are asked to ensure that they have the proper footwear. Would Sligo Rovers considering opening it up to older players? isn't there about 12 players between Ballina Town and Knock/ Kiltimagh United playing in the Mayo League.. Giving them the opportunity to play with Rovers would provide a really strong squad..

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
