I suppose he could get a job outside football and not harm his chances but I think if the job were offered to him he might take it. He could still claim for the difference between what he's getting in his new job and what he was getting in his old job.

Don't think so. He was on a two year career break and was saying at the time he left Cork that he couldn't go back to that job until the two years were up. Maybe things have changed since, I don't know.
