    Echo Scared Of Dolan??????????

seem to get the feeling that the echo is scared of pat dolan

we all know that dolan has a very strong personality

the press's job is to tell at as it is with a few arms and legs added on

our home form is abysmal the last 2 months and not once did they criticise dolan

this isthe same rag that helped in ousting mountfield and gunther

this is not a rant to get rid of dolan

    just a thought

As any of our Liverpudlian cousins would say corner........"calm down, calm down"

This is a transition year so they are obviously giving him some slack. Besides we are still 3rd and ARE going to stay there.

Mind you I overheard Moses roaring at the Rovers game thay we were in transition since 1984.............harsh!

I think you'll find that the Echo defended Gunther to the last. There was one critical article by John McHale but apart from that Gunther could do no wrong in the eyes of Spillane and co.
Bearing that in mind, it would be disgraceful if they started to criticise Dolan after less than a full season in charge.

Funny how McHale was the voice of soccer in Cork for a few months but has disapeared all of a sudden...........!

I played basketball against him for years and he was just as iratating and annoying then also.........oh and he knew nothing about soccer then either........was totally into basketball.

Sounds like he did the Sky degree course in "armchair football"

what i am getting at, a couple of times this season, the team/dolan would have been worthy of headlines which were criticisng but they always came up with a different story about city which took the bad reflection off the result

any other manager whose team didnt win at home for almost 3 whole months would have been slated

when gunther said media conspiracy he really meant "the first decent article they've published in the last couple of years"

In fairness I think the corner has a point. Dolan is a great salesman and master of media manipulation. He could sell sand to the arabs. For example last Tuesday we played sh*t in Waterford, losing 3-0 and it could have been more. Next night in the echo back page Spillage writes that we are interested in signing Fenn and O'Connor. Inside Dolan tells us that it was Waterfords and Jimmy McGeoughs night, goals change peoples perceptions of games etc. No apology for the poor performance was forth coming and no one questioned Dolan on why we were so poor etc.
Lads lets get this straight Dolan is a bullsh*tter no doubt about it.

    But he's OUR bullsh*tter

i think you're spot on there yiddo. You gotta take the guy with a pinch of salt, but apart from the bluff and bluster he is doing a very good job.

Lets face it-we're doing as well, hopefully better eventually, than last season, but we have more fans, more money and a better manager. Where would you rather be. 3rd with Gunther or 3rd with Pat?
