    Player Fines For Bookings

    Hi All,

Sorry if this has been discussed already. It's just in relation to the five euro penalty incurred by a player when they receive a booking. It was only brought into our league this year and we are assured that we were the last league to do this. We had fines for sending off's which is fair enough but now with the five euro charge for every booking ( we have two teams ) it is getting a bit much especially in this current economic climate. I know we have to educate the players towards respecting the ref etc but the question I have are all other leagues incurring these fines?

The LSL fines a player €30 for 4 bookings. €30 for a red card. €50 for violent conduct.

This has happened in Clare too. As far as I know its not the Clare League dishing out the fines, its the Munster FA. Good few of our lads got the €5 fines but one worse - a youth player was fined €40 for accumulating 3 yellows in youths matches now thats a joke

In Limerick 4 yellow cards will get you a 1 game ban but no fine, this is also a joke as some yellow cards are not reported by the some referees and some are.

    Thumbs up

from what i know 5 euro a booking only occurs in munster Junior, Senior games. It a seperate thing for a league to bring it in. Just a wayof making money!!!!In Tipp we get a ban after receiving 4 yellows and approx. 10, 15 euro fine.Is it just me or will leagues now do anything to make money and screw clubs, many who are barely surviving anyway??

On that note, is there anyway a player could find out exactly how many bookings he has to date? or can a club check anywhere to see what players are on what amount of yellow's??

This would be ideal,,, for instance if a player was on 3 yellow cards and knew he was 1 yellow away from a suspension, then he could try and use it to hes advantage, or the manager might rest that particular player..............similar to England!!!!

obviously a record has to be kept as the referee cards have to sent either to league sec, disciplinary officer and they have to keep a record otherwise it would be pointless. At any time in tipp you can ring the disclipinary officer and he will tell you no problem

That would be a great facilitiy to have if you could check, but as to use it to your advantage could be a problem cause as its LDMC that would be dealing with it who's to know when they would send the suspension out , you could be waiting weeks to be notified. I dont think they would be in a position to tell clubs how many yellow cards a player has, wouldn't that mean keeping records or dare I say an updated spreadsheet on one of those modern things called A COMPUTER

    Cork Aul

In the Cork Aul its a fiver for the first 2 yellows,a tenner for the 3rd.A 30 fine an a suspension for the 4th.Then you start again.A red card is between 30 an 40 euro dependin on what you did.Its 70 euro if you dont show for the disicpline meetin. An if you do somethin to a ref, ring your solictor an then apply for a loan to cover what your fine will be.
    Their's only one Dinny Pop's.

It would be ideal if it was posted on the Limericksoccer website for all to see.

come on now were asking too much of the limerick council and of refs, just trying to get them to be fair to all teams is still out of their league..
alan how much were you fined for ah diving hahaha
There's no such thing as luck. Victories for the underdog are an aberration on the order of the universe - which is why I've had damn few loses in my time
