Volunteering Abroad

Anybody ever done a bit of volunteering abroad? Thinking of spending 3 months volunteering in SE Asia or South America next year. Looking for anything that would be interesting and cheap. How did you organise it?

Lad I know packed in his job just before Christmas and recently headed off to Eritrea to do some volunteering. Not a clue how it came to pass but whenever he gets in contact again I'll ask him for info.

"I had gone along to open days with Goal and Concern also one for
VSO. They tell you what they do and the type of people they are looking for.
Would be good to keep an eye on their websites. Also check out
www.irishaid.gov.ie they have a lot of good information there, and some good
people to contact. I found them very helpful."
