The new Franz Ferdinand album, Tonight:, out at the end of the month, supposed to be surprisingly good, a real departure from the last one. Bit of electronic danciness, some dub reggae, African drums... Sounds good!
Didn't know Massive Attack had a new one due but am also now very much looking forward to that!
more bass
The Prodigy 'Invaders Must Die', ive heard the title track, sounds pretty good. And the original line-up is back too.
'Fascists dress in black and go round telling people what to do, where as priests.....'
These are 2 albums that were actually released last year, but I reckon will be big in 2009 on this side of the pond.
Nikelback - Dark Horse
Lady Gaga - The Fame
The glass isn't half full or half empty it's just too damn big!
Big Boi's first solo one. I've already heard some of it, it's very good.
Dr. Dre (hopefully).

Abri o portão de ouro, da maquina do tempo.
Mi mamá me hizo guapo, listo y antimadridista.
merriweather post pavillion - animal collective. insanely touted as album of the year already according to pitchfork but it wouldn't surprise me, i love the AC i dooo.
stann that forthcoming franz ferdinand album sounds as if they might've been listening to these boys' records. spin mag says: "Call it searching for the perfect peak. Merriweather plays like the summation of a long, strange trip, combining the group's career touchstones: harmonic Beach Boys pop, African tribal chants, minimalism, minimal techno, psychedelia, and dub."
i dunno, music with conventional guitars/verses/choruses bores the hell out of me mostly, i might pick up more spoken word stuff like robert ashley or the sound-art strangeness of william burroughs. but that's already released, not exactly 2009
zombie/thread killer..
The Manics - Journal For Plague Lovers (Working Title)
Doves
Yeah Yeah Yeah's
The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys and My Bloody Valentine have all gone into the studio or are in the process of doing so in the next while.
Remains to be seen if the sessions result in an album for 2009.
I'd particularly hold my breath on the MBV record!

Trash Can Sinatras - In the Music. Due in April I think.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
Hearing a lot of good things about White Lies, not least that they're comparable to Manics 1994 classic 'The Holy Bible'. I hope they're not a let-down. i'll most certainly give it a few listens.

Can't wait for this myself
New single is catchy but not top class, video debuted on Channel 4 the other night.
"Must you tell me all your secrets when it's hard enough to love you knowing nothing."
