    Dan Connor and Neale Fenn

The back of todays Echo says we're signing them in the close season.
Fenn would be a good signing imo, play him and Flynny up front with Georgie just behind them.
As for Connor, apart from the fact that he's an a lmighty boll0x, I don't think we need him.
The report also suggests that we might be interested in Mark Clifford and John Frost.

I don't want Dan Connor at the Cross. Apart from the fact it was us on the receiving end of his pathetic antics, any player who behaves as he did does not deserve a place at a club like ours. He is immature, stupid and pathetic. If Pat Dolan reads this board, he should be left in no doubt that we don't want connor. I'll promise one thing- any time I see him at the cross, whatever jersey he wears, he'll hear me.

Fenn would be a great signing on the other hand, Clifford and Frost useful additions to the squad at least

We need to stop buying Left Wingers and make it a priority ABOVE ALL ELSE to get 2-3 really good midfielders........

.......one serious ball winner plus a guy who can hold up the ball up before passing it around, setting up our front men. The third could be another solid midfielder who would do the donkey work for whoever is playing etc.

I agree though Fenn would be a good signing. He is an excellent player with a good track record.

City cannot be serious though in contemplating signing Connor........I tell you though, it would take some ball$ on his part to sign and run out to the Shed on his debut.........it would, however, prove what we are all saying ......that if he had two brains you'd hear a "rattle".

Clifford and Fenn are a must.

    Forget Frost.

Connor - I dunno! He's a **** but he's a good keeper! Don't know if he's much better than Mick though? He seems to reserve his best for games against City. He's made a few c******s this season aswell.

Pats are talking about Steve O'Flynn. Surely we should be in for him.

Ciaran Martyn looks like he's going to Shels. Might be worth an offer?

    Is the Beesley link gone?

I think they'd both be good signings to be honest, despite him being an idiot, connor is a very good keeper.

I agree though that if the reports are true, we're focusing on the wrong parts of the field to be strengthening. We need a decent central midfielder.

If we sign Fenn, we sign a great midfielder in Georgie dropping back. We just need a grafter next to him in the middle.

It worries me tho' if we are signing Fenn, IMO it can mean one of two things; Either we are really going for broke to win the league, taking risks or they have resigned themselves to losing Flynny and Fenn is a replacement.

The Echo story is just rumours nothing solid. Report full of Spillagisms too.

Fenn would be a good signing. He would complement Flynnie and his experience would be a help to John too.
As for him being as good as signed, well Clifford was supposed to be too, but are they really going to be City players?
Connor, as I have posted else where would not be an improvement so he would be a waste of money.

It would offer strength in depth as our replacement strikers arent up to much (yet?). I mean Behan/Nolan/Colin P aint up to the rigours of eL football. I think it could be very nice,
    Flynn and Fenn up front
George in the middle, or playing off the front 2.
Doyle on the right and Kearney on the left.
Sounds like a fairly formidable attacking team there!
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

He'd love to go back to Cork, but only if Gunther emigrates and his palm is nicely greased. I can confirm that Pats have had interest in him for a long time though, so, get out ye're rather large chequebook, and help Limerick stay in football for a while

If we sign the two boys it'll look like we have a Leicester style Link with the Posh. We pay them pittance and they nurture young talent for us.

The question you have to ask yourself is how trustworthy do you think Spillane is?

Seriously though, I know Dolan rates both Fenn and Clifford and I think they would be great signings but whether we'll get them or even try to get them is another matter. I reckon at least one of them will be a City player next season anyway.

Is a case of waiting and seeing but I do think midfield should be a priority. There does seem to be a lack of available, quality midfielders to choose from though.

As for keepers, maybe Dolan knows something we don't with regards to Mick?
I don't think Connor would sign to be a second string.

as much as i despise dan connor, u have to take ur hat off to him if he signs. it will take balls

it doesnt look good now but in time wouldnt we love to see him rising away supporters at the cross.

he is arrogant and that will in the end win over the city supporters

    ..........sorry Corner!

Sorry Corner............I for one cannot stand the guy.

In one of the earlier games of the season ( when he saved Flynny's penno ) I thought "hey, this guy is good" but after recent events I think the guy is a toe rag.

Will never change my opinion of him .......... even if he captains us to the double.....................!

Gotta stop 'cause I messin' with my own head now.

    picture the scene

city vs rovers last game of the 2004 campaign

up steps molloy for a penalty for rovers to take the title off city

dan connor goes to his left and saves it, gives the finger to the 500 travelling rovers supporters

anyone starting to like him yet
