Brian McCarthy CB Bohemians
The promising young centre-half joined Bohemians ahead of the 2008 campaign, after making the breakthrough with Athlone Town. In April 2008 the defender joined Cobh Ramblers on loan until July '08. Cobh Ramblers stats 2008: League 7 apps. FAI Cup 1

Interesting. Athlone fans always rated him highly, Cobh fans less so!. Still very young but should do a good job for us in the First Division. I wonder if it works out for both parties will he be kept until the end of the season?. We'll worry about that later I suppose.

Alan Lynch is training with Bray and will more than likely be signing for them.
just seen in todays longford news that gough is also after des hope athlone town defender.. he is awaitin on his meeting with athlone town manager brendan place and then decide.. we are also linked with another athlone town player robbie hamm..
also heard on the grapevine thats theres a strong chance that ex town "favourite" robbie farrell and jamie duffy could be coming back to the club.. in fairness to robbie hes a good first division player and duffy was good for us in his spell for us two years ago..
if these two sign it will be a very interesting squad..

I'd definitely take Robbie Farrell and Jamie Duffy back for this year. The other two I wouldn't be as keen on, though we do need a squad and not just a team at this point. Des Hope must be pushing on a bit at this stage, was never overly impressed any time I saw him over the years and I believe he is injured a lot. Robbie Hamm I know very little about.

Yeah would take back Farrell and Duffy. Farrell will always score goals in First Division and Duffy was handy when he was with us.And someone said in another thread that we don't need another striker cos we already have 2 great ones!!! Well what if one or the two of them get injured??? Remember last year we only had one striker for the most of it!!! And 4 goals was the second top scorer!!!! So the more goal poachers we have the better in my opinion!!! Think we need 4 strikers who can get goals at least 3 anyways!!!
Not liking all these Athlone players we're been linked too. Didn't realise Athlone had such a good defence and brilliant midfield seein as we have 3/4 of their midfield and been linked with 1/2 their defenceHas Ian Ryan signed for anyone? Thought he was a handy player when he wasn't injured. Could be another good addition.

Marco Tardelli's red and black,
Red and black, red and black.
Marco Tardelli's red and black,
He hates Athlone.
Think Farrell scored 10 goals from 23 appearances although only 16 of them were starts. He would be a good signing in my opinion add a bit of fire power. Better signing someone like him instead of another Dean Barrett!!! Now he was rubbish!! Looks like the talent only rubbed off on one brother!!!
And what do ya think of Farrell been linked to us Martinho? I don't think your a big fan of him if I remember rightly!!!
I always have a sneaking regard for Robbie as I remember chatting to him at the post Cup final reception thing in the Longford Arms in 2001. We were both locked and having a great chat about what great fans we had, "Yiz are like a twelfth man" was one such pearl of wisdom from Robert that night. Those were the days of innocence. Anyway, as a footballer I reckon he's a proven First Division goalscorer over the years so if we sign him I'm sure he'll be a decent addition.

Yeah I always liked him as a player. He'll nearly always grab 12 plus goals a season in the First Division. Hadn't a great season with us in the Premier but sher when did we ever have a prolific striker in the Premier until Mooney decided to fulfil his potential 2 years ago. I for one would be delighted if he signed for us.
hes wasnt great for us town legend when he played for us... maybe with him havin the long hair now maybe he may do the business. when he signed for us initially he was top scorer with home farm.. he was good for dundalk for them last year but I reserve judgment on him for the time being

Oh I know that Martinho. But there's some players who aren't really cut out for the Premier Division but are good First Division players. Strikers like Farrell, Izzi, Philly Hughes, Myler and Mumbles would bang in the goals at this level but never quite make it in the premier. Although Myler lasted a couple of seasons there I don't know how!!!!![]()
Tony Izzi, I'd forgotten all about him, I remember thinking we should have gone in for him when we came up. Trevor Vaughan was another prolific First Division goalscorer.

Think he's on trial with galway, well according to a friend of his on bebo. Telling him not to sign for Long Ball Ford before he see's what Galway have to offer and then whatever we offer him use see will Galway give him more!! Hopefully he won't listen to that **** of a mate!!!![]()
Let him **** off to Galway then.
