    Well maybe you're right but with it starting in August you wouldn't know. I would be expecting Derry to do well in Europe, and likewise Bohs, Sligo and Pats. I just think it will test squads to the limit, especially the teams in Europe who seem to have fairly small squads

    There were definately aware of it Dodge, as Michael Hayes is on the Setanta Committee and is also heavily involved in the League fixture list.

    It will turn the second half of the season into a complete shambles for successful team, with the League coming down to who can get out of the competitions/keep their players fit.

    In theory it's a good idea to have them on the weekend but when it involves pushing league games to midweek then it's just stupid. Clubs that aren't even in the competition will be affected by this.
