What don't you like about Windows Movie maker?
Well, ye helped me out with DVD burning software but now it's time to take it to the next level, video editing! What's available out there bar Windows Movie Maker? I'd be more willing to pay for something like this, but I'd need a good trial first. Simpler the better please!
Thanks,
adam

I used
Cyberlink Powerdirector
to create this masterpiece.
Found it very easy to use and full of features. Big download though and used a lot of memory when in full flow.
Isn't it finicky about what it'll bring in, and more importantly what it'll put out? WMV's no good to me, I'm a cross-platform type.
No shortage of memory, diskspace or bandwidth here, but my experience of Cyberlink software is poor at best. I'll try anything once though. Bar Harp, obviously.
EDIT: Pretty good video Joe, fair dues!

Rather than start a new topic on an issue that's come up on here (cross platforms, import/export formats etc...) can anyone recommmend an editor that'll import mpeg2 files.
I think it's absolutely absurd that high end expensive software like Adobe Premiere can't handle these files.
I've been trying changing extensions to import into other software (Arcsoft Video Impression, Windows Movie Maker) where I could then just save my raw data in some format Adobe Premier will deal with -with little success.

...Just following up and part answering my own question. PowerDirector5 opens mpeg2 files and allows them be saved in other formats (AVI, MPEG1, DV)
