    John Whyte is a muppet

That has to be thickest, most brainless sending off I have ever seen. He has rubbed his colleagues noses in it and with this a 3 match ban for violent conduct and he is as said before a liability to Limerick FC.
Limerick are playing a brand of football that is crisp, fast and clean and this moron is just a bleak reminder of O'Connors era.
It looks as though (worst case scenario) we may have to start games with 9 or 10 players in the playoffs if we get another red card and 2 or 3 injuries.
We need an u-21 team badly.

That's the only part of the above post that makes any sense.

Nobody is denying that the sending off was totally bloody stupid but for anybody to come on here and give that kind of shapeless abuse to a player who has shown as much loyalty to Limerick FC as John Whyte is simply childishness of the worst kind. If it wasn't for players like the Whytes actively encouraging players to play without pay this club would have folded already.

It's amazing how moronic fans who can't read a game only ever come away raving about flair players and can't see any place for grit and determination. It's also typical of the Limerick attitude to try and dismiss players who have contributed greatly over the years just because they're in the twilight of their careers.

The post above is every bit as brainless and pointless as Whyte's sending of. At least John Whyte can claim it happened in the heat of the moment, not like this petty tosser who is still in mid-tantrum when he figures out how to work a keyboard long after the incident took place.

John should be fined by the club certainly because that's two red cards this season to match the one he picked up in the last match of last season. But the kind of venemous tripe being spewed above is totally over the top.

    and indeed some more...

    For Gods sake

I am sure John Whyte is a decent bloke etc, etc,
It is not a personal thing nor is it abuse.
John would be the first guy to concede that he was a complete muppet to get dismissed for such a trivial incident and nor was it heat of the moment as he had time to think then struck out!!
I am calling him a muppet because of what he did and I know he has been a good clubman and if you think this is abuse then that's your opinion.
You are also calling his sending off brainless and stupid.

NB Don't appreciate been called a moron or a tosser which I think is a bit silly really and didn't think that was your style.
I don't mind bantering about me not reading games etc etc
So either delete the thread if is so offensive or just move on.

So let's get this straight - you can call people (John Whyte in this case) a moron any time you like but you don't appreciate it when somebody does the same to you????

Can you see the conflict there?

As for my post you were probably just the straw that broke the camel's back, there's been a lot of over the top garbage spouted by a number of people on Whyte in the last day or two and I think it's pretty pathetic. Apologies for the tosser comment.

I'm more than willing to move on and forget about this but for God sake at least be consistent in future huh?

In another thread, a couple of posters agreed that for the last match against Bray at Pike sportsground, that we could understand Derek being dropped. He was not performing to his best and that this was the kick start he needed to get his form back. I'd like to point out that it worked, Derek came off the bench all fired up and scored. Since then he's continued playing like this, the way we know he can and which resulted in him been confirmed as player of the month. Lims fan had a go at everyone for agreeing with Mike's tactics even going so far as to suggest that they were the "bad" fans,

Foley didn't get half the stick that McCarthy and O'Flynn are getting......We have our best strikeforce in 15 years and all you guys can do is slag them off even when they score
Of course at the time he failed to realise that no one was slagging either of the two players but still when I read the latest offering from Mr. Lims I was caught up in two minds, do I reply back or not. I'm afraid I couldn't resist considering that this is the guy who suggested that we boycott our home matches earlier this season. I don't agree with name calling and SLK shouldn't have done that, but one tag I would attach to you is that of a paradox. You suggest boycotting matches but yet your at the game in Finn Harps. You give out to posters who offer opinions and analysis on players while recognising their quality and value. But yet you are the one who embarks on the name calling

Limerick are playing a brand of football that is crisp, fast and clean and this moron is just a bleak reminder of O'Connors era
I love the explanation offered afterwards,
I am sure John Whyte is a decent bloke etc, etc, it is not a personal thing nor is it abuse
If you don't call it abuse then please clarify for me, what is your definition of the word "abuse". It seems to me that when everyone else is watching Limerick FC its in technicolor where as you seem to be stuck in black and white. Life must be really tough for you when it comes to Limerick FC and every time you post you always seem to be attacked over something you said. If I was your psychiatrist I'd be asking, "why do you think that is Lims Fan, maybe because you don't think before you type". You know in GAA circles you would be better appreciated. Please don't think of this as abuse I'm just being a smart arse (at least I'm honest )
Limerick 37, its so shiny and new we dare not take the cover off.

Can see both of ye're sides to this one. John Whyte did something that only a muppet would do, and it could cost us if we need more than one sub on Thursday night. He deserves to be criticised for this, because no matter what loyalty he shows to the club, he has no right to let his team mates and the fans down in the manner he did.
However, he does not deserve the OTT abuse as was doled out by Lims Fan. This is indicative of those lovely days of old when the el mb was decorated on a daily basis with Lims Fan wishing terminal illness on a man who was only doing what he believed was best for the club, and was doing it for nothing. I thought those days were gone, and I hope they are.
    Move On!!!

The Whyte brothers are legends.Limerick men to the core. Two of our greatest servants.Do Albert Finnin and Ray O'Halloran ever take a trip up to the Pike to see the boys in action these days. Two great servants in their day it must be said.
