    Galway 1 City 2

Another sucessful smash and grab raid by the CCFC
West Cork Colin was very good and took his goal well, connecting with a firm header from a Kelvin Flanagan corner after about 15mins, as did Conor o grady who must have ran 60 yards at least in the dying mins, when he was played through a non existent galway defence, and eventually slotted it past the keeper. There was a stage when he was runing toward goal that the keeper actually turned his back on the ball to run back as he was way out of his goal( i thought he would have shot from there) but he slotted it home anyway
Crowd was pathetic circa 200 maybe ( there was definately more at 1st div game between waterford V ramblers last sat nite)
Overall, we were good in patches, albeit those were very few, had about 40% of the possession, and much less in the second half.

BTW for future attention you can get a decent pint of murphys in Kates bar across from the shopping centre near the ground..mmmm very nice

    Question 1st half.

No idea whay happened in the first half. City team getting younger by the game. O'Shea made his debut? Galway very poor upfront, blazing shots over the bar from long range until of course got 1 on target & got the goal......

What is it they say about a team winning dispite not playing well.........?

Unbelieveably bad crowd. Is this the future? The arrival of the rebel mobeeeeel in the 2nd half boosted the attendance (but not the takings ) by 1%

If I was driving like a woman would have:
    a) Ended up in Sligo
    b) Have no wing mirrors left from the journey
    c) At least have had 3 'fender benders' on the way.

BTW we would seen skippys sending off only for the "red bus" doing 40 on the main road

Most interesting to hear about the very poor attendance.

These midweek games are a disaster, not only limiting the away support but going up against Juve/Celtic and ManU is retarded.

I dread to think what kind of crowd will be at UCD next Wednesday?

great who does that leave so
Joe your going up there on your own so!

Bernie we missed your wit and insightful comments last night. Thought you'd be there. The sun was shining, no hint of rain, team playing ok and winning matches. Your kind of game really

    Unhappy Only in Ireland

Leagues allover europe have mid-week games & don't get two men & a dog turning up.....Attendances are dropping allover the league, weekends included dispite much better facilities etc.....

    example:
Carlisle (Roddys team) played some other poor english 3rd division team last night & got 2700 at the game. Not exactely sure what they normally get but thinks around 3000-3500.

btw richie foran got his 2nd goal (1st from play), got booked for unsporting behaviour & Shoddy Roddy got his 1st win.
