I can see how your wife's maiden name being the same would raise a giggle, but it's not a very big demographic for Ms Lynch to aim at, that one.

And I cannot help it if you are so slow off the mark that you can't keep up with me. Now I can see why you don't find some shows funny - it takes a day before you get the joke and sometimes you never get it!

IMO Kilinaskullys just Pat Short doing the same old jokes and gags he been doing for years, It was funny for a while but got old very quickly. Father Ted is classic comedy proberly because there was only 3 series it never got old.

Some shows mentioned here that I like are Katherine Lynch's wonderwomen and Nightlife. Nightlife is brilliant - it has me rolling around the place with laughter..

The verdict is still out on the Lucy Kennedy effort.

I live in Athlone Town - for the record and I’m proud of it!

Killinaskully better than Fr Ted - do you sniff glue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no verdict tobewaited on - Lucy Kennedy is awful, brainless, cheap, and small breasted!

and im also from Westmeath- which kind of proves your theory wrong i guess

One of the major problems I have with Father Ted is that the show uses the gimmick of audience laughter added to the scenes. I don't need someone's else's laughter to tell me what I think is funny or not. Pat Shortt's scenes in Father Ted are great however!

What shows I like are a matter of preference and as someone who supports Athlone Town I have had to develop a special kind of humour to enable me watch them - especially over the last few seasons.

Yes it from around the late 70's, was a quality show, much better than alot of crap were seeing now. As for Rab C (Rab C Nessbitt is the full name) I havn't seen much of it myself, its about some Scottish man from what i've seen, its usually on Paramount Comedy 2.

Cobh Town Council are on line 2. They want to know if they can use that hole you've been digging when you're done - they've been looking one big enough to use as a landfill site, and they reckon that'll they'll get ten to fifteen years into what you've already managed in this thread.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

On the remote occasions when satire bites in this country, you just have to sit back and laugh at the fall out.

I've not heard the show and am unsure of its questionable quality but its certainly wound them up.

This is why any decent comedy and satire will never thrive in this country - its strangled at birth by politicians and their frenzied local constituents.

DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING!!!!

It is still a 5 minutes sketch turned into a series. I won't even comment on Kathrine Lynchs drag queen style humour.

I don't like Killnascully but I understand how some people do even if RTE milk it so much it will soon be hated by those people too.

This does not make any sense. The thread is about RTE shows not about any other channels. I suggest you might shave that bluebeard of yours the hairs seems to be blocking your vision.

Hmm. The force is not strong in this one.

Oh dear, oh dear. How wrong can one person get ?

Killinascully better than Father Ted - (Oh, and Father Ted may have been "made" by Channel 4, but it was created, directed and acted by Irish people - proof that we can do it - just not on RTE seemingly.)
Upwardly Mobile - Only hated by Dubs, because it was poking fun at them ? (No, that would be because it was unfunny crud.)
Fawlty Towers - Timeless classic. The best sitcom ever made. Absolutely not dated in any way.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
