    Down the Pan

Our season is going to pieces before our very eyes.
We do not deserve 3rd spot the way we are playing.

We were total toilet last night and I don't care what excuse Dolan gives us in todays Echo , that level of performance is unacceptable by players wearing the Cork City colours.
His team selection isn't doing thses players much favours either but they are under performing on top of it.

According to some on this Forum George cannot be criticised.
    He was rubbish last night.
Now he wasn't alone there of course.
Kevin Murray was worse and shouldn't be playing centre midfield.

John O'Flynn should not have come on last night, he didn't look up to it and was hobbling at the end, hope there is no damage done.
I hope Hoggie was injured and not dropped as he has been one of our most consistant performers this season.

Why has Dolan signed these Nigerians if he is not going to give them a game ?

We have not won a home game since August 22nd, Dolan needs to get the finger out, lose the excuses and start getting some results, fast.

Denis Behan and Kevin Murray were an absolute disgrace to the city jersey last night. Why Dolan rates Murray so highly is a mystery to everyone, he did his usual disappearing act last night and what little he did, he did wrong,
I'm gonna take a blow torch to everyone who writes "any info on......." on the desks in the ucc library.

i thought last night was one of K Murray's better games, but he's a central defender at heart so a midfield of him and Conor is not going to be creative. It's not his fault if the manager keeps picking him while it's obvious to the rest of us that he's not quite ready yet, why he's not being developed from the bench is beyond me, especially with Benno available.

If hoggy was injured where the hell is alan carey, isn't he our right back cover? Flynn shouldn't have been expectd to put an hour in when he was clearly nowhere near full fitness.

Kearney should have come off instead of O'Grady (bringing nwanko on), I'm a big fan of liams but he was clearly fading with twenty minutes to go last night and a pair of fresh legs running on that wing could have yielded a goal.

only players to come out with any credit were woods and Behan IMO.

Behan is simply not up to it.
Woods played well, thought Greg put in a major effort, Georgie did a lot of ball winning, but was poor otherwise, Dan steady, the rest..........

Thought Behan did very well when he came on last night.

It was an atrocious team performance.

If we dont win against Shams friday its all over id say. Im sure the lads will raise their games anyway. If they cant, well that will be a shame.

Gawd last nite was grim. Think it was the worsty City performance
ive seen this season. Really they were all sh!te. Doyle was worse, Kearney is lightweight, Flynny was far from fit and shouldnt have played for an hour IMO. As for the midfield that started?? Awful.

That said I thought we improved when Behan came on up front
and George dropped deep. We played with a little bit of
guile then and I think with Flynny on the way to match fitness things can only improve.

BTW Im totally sick of Devine dawdling over the kick/throw outs. He just seems incapable of making going for the quick option.

Anyway roll on Friday....hopefully things will get better

Woods was having a duel with Coughlan to see who could play worse. The two of them were brutal. kearney had an off day and Kevin Murray just simply should not be playing centre mid. I feel sorry for him, but people are gonna start turning on him very soon unless dolan does the sensible thing and drops him. How he can justify playing coughlan or K murray ahead of benno I don't know. Coughlan must be the worst signing we've made since we brought hartigan back- why the hell did dolan have to sign him. Woods just doesn't look interested any more- he should be released asap

Woah there Éanna, a bit OTT. Derek is good at certain aspects like heading crusemisiles out of the sky. I'd have him on the bench but to say he's like Hartigol is a bit much.

Billy Woods tends to go through good and bad form, he had been playing very well until recently at left back.

I'd agree with what you say about Benno and Kevin Murray.
    Oh no not them again

I thought Behan player reasonably well when he came on. He's young and will need to develop a bit, but he did ok.
Likewise K. Murray, though Benno is clearly a far better player.

Our super keeper was bloody slow to come off his line and collect the ball last night as well. And he looked uncomfortable when Longford whipped in crosses. Super keeper.

Yes, superkeeper, its just his distribution is cráp. I wouldnt swap him for anyone in the league.

how about a keeper who's as good and who's distribution isn't crap........Connor, Williams, Adamson.

I'm a fan of Devine, and i think he does a good job, but he's one of the best in the league, not THE best.

He was away in dreamland for most of last night as well, on at least three occasions D Murray had to clear ball that should have been Keepers.

Adamson has the worse distribution of any keeper in the league, I'd say EVEN Pats fans would admit that.

Fair enough George didn't have one of his better games last night but to say he was rubbish is bang out of order. He still tried his heart out as he always does and out of all the players on the pitch last night he looked like he wanted to win it the most.

I'd agree with what you say about Benno and Kevin Murray.
Explain to me so, what the point was in signing him? IMO, you should only sign players that are better than what you have, or who have the potential to be better. Derek is not better than Dan, or Benno, Mickey Buckley looks better in the U21's too. He won't improve, in fact I think he's a shadow of the player he was 5 or 6 years ago. So why sign him?! Pointless.

As for Woods. His good games usually consist of him deciding he will run with the ball and having a few decent shots on goal. His bad games consist of him wandering around in his own penalty area totally out of position, leaving his man unmarked, getting in the way of his fellow defenders, trying to kill wingers, falling on his arse and hoofing the ball straight to the nearest opponent. And he has more bad games than good. Another player who might do a job on the bench, but no way is he the left back for a league-winning side.

Agree with you about Behan, Murray just isn't a midfielder- full stop. As for Devine, I think he's been excellent. he had a few dodgy moments last night, but everyone does sometimes. When was the last time he cost us a goal?

    Woods...

I mentioned about Billy Woods ages back and got slated on here for it.I do not think he is good enough to be playing left back.Maybe cover on the wing but not in defence...

Even though at first i was happy to see Derek back i am now changing my mind. Its true we should never bring in players that are not better than what we got here and unfortunately he isnt.Alan Bennett was doing well in there and Derek has looked awkward and slow and very prone to mistakes since his return.

Kevin Murrays situation is strange.Bennett on the bench and has a lot more experience that playing Murray out of position and out of his debt in the centre.Isnt it important to make sure we get into Europe?

Whats going on with these Nigerians? Are they not good enough? If not get rid of them and stop wasting the clubs money and bring in a proper central midfielder.Something we have needed since Reynolds left

It's funny the way the "fans" at the back left of the Shed are only ever heard when things are going bad. Moaning ****s.

Did I miss a major change in Irish society or is free speech banned?

Are people investing time, money and hope in their local football team not entitled to get upset when a bunch of players they know have ability and potential are underperforming?

If you're happy with the way the season is going, fair play to you. But other people aren't happy. They've as much entitlement to express their opinions as anybody else.

Dunno if I should add some crass name-calling here with words starred out, but, hey, sure aren't you entitled to your opinion too?

    Neil...

Neil...i have to admit i am surprised with your post.It does not really matter whether people agree with comments or not but its about fans giving there opinion on club matters.Of course people are unhappy with whats going on at the moment.City are not playing to well but i am sure things will change soon. But still ALL FANS are entitled to there opinion of the club, manager or the players. Its only fair isnt it?I have met you before and you are a sound guy, but i hope you see that we are all City fans whatever is said.We can complain on this forum but i can tell you we will all be right behind the team at every game we attend.I am sure we will make Europe and then some of us can come on here and complain that we did not beat AC Milan or whoever by 10 clear goals....
